 Was It Worth Waiting For?

New Miniatures

Long time no see, as they say.
Yes, it's been like more than 2 weeks ago, and it was just a short update about our site being back online. So what we've got now is a lot of new miniatures to let you know about!

Good manners require that we should let ladies go first, so let us start with Ana and her limited edition Lord of Tzeentch on Disc. Take a look at the patterns on his clothes and tentacles to see what took her so much time to finish this paintjob.

Moving on to men now...
Demi_morgana is our most recognized Warmachine painter, so you should check his Privateer Press stuff, including this Soulhunter and interesting Ghost of Dire Troll. But there is also a group of German Geneticists from Darkson Designs and a Warhammer 40.000 Death Guard Terminator Lord if you're not a Warmachine or Hordes fan.

Illusionrip was not satisfied with the previous photo of his silver-winning diorama, so he decided to replace it with a new picture of the Demonic Tower. Hopefully it does more justice to this excellent piece!

A new member of the Chest of Colors group, Slawol, who has just moved there from Box of Brushes, rearranged pictures in his gallery and posted three new pictures: Maneater Paymaster (painted at the time when he was still in Box of Brushes), Archaon, Lord of End Times and Terminator Chaplain. All of them are examples of the style that Slawol is trying to develop - dirty, gritty, and not very cartoony...

Szary's female Eldar Farseer seems to be a total opposite of Slawol's style - saturated colors, bright paintjob, sharp detailing. I believe many people will love this kind of painting!

Flameon's painting seems to be something between Szary's and Slawol's styles: Check this Theoden and Deathmaster Sniktch out to see what I mean. icon_wink

Przemo painted this excellent Infinity chick for a painting competition. With this quality of painting his chances should be pretty good.... unless his rivals are well prepared for such opponents!

Szczurek also wants to enter the competition, so he chose and painted this Infinity model. Let's wait to see the opponents... But in the meantime you can check this Elf Standard Bearer and Aenur in Szczurek's gallery.

One painter who managed to escape our attention is Kacper_gda. To catch up with updates in his gallery, let me mention these models: Slaanesh Champion, the Masque, Juggernaut of Khorne, Be'Lakor, Chaos Marauder Horsemen, and other Chaos Marauder Horsemen, Tigers and Space Wolf Rune Priest.

And now something you don't get to see very often: a Dragon painted by Nameless as his entry for Iron Painter. He managed to paint this beast in 2 weeks. Impressiveachievement, isn't it?
But that's not all - he also painted Grom da Paunch of Misty Mountain and a Templar Knight from XIII Century, so you still have quite a lot to see. icon_smile

To finish this update, I would like to remind you about the 3rd CofC Miniature Exchange, which is taking place right now. Some of our members already managed to deliver their miniatures to their recipients, so we can see these works in their galleries now. Let's start with Demi_morgana, who painted this model from Scibor Miniatures, then Lemartes with his Cherub, and Gildor with Prince Imrahil.

Enjoy browsing!

 Christmas Cracker For You

New Miniatures

Holidays are coming, so I think people will have other things to do than painting miniatures. So before this merry time comes, we'd like to share a few new paintjobs with you.

Let's start with the most productive of the painters mentioned today: Demi_morgana. He painted two old (let's call them classic) Games Workshop miniatures: Heinrich Kemmler also known as the Lichemaster and Krell. If you want to see them on a special display base, check this photo of these two Undead Characters together. But Demi_morgana's gallery includes one more new model: the Black Coach made from Dracula's Carriage released by Westwind miniatures.

Kacpero shows us a better photo of his Slayer of Daemon finalist: Red Scorpions Librarian in terminator armor. But even more interesting is the other new miniature in his gallery: converted Sigvald the Magnificent. The colors are pretty uncommon for this model, but they were requested by the owner of this model to represent his PRG character.

Then we've got Ana and her Limited Edition Sorceress. You will probably wonder why some things were done in a particular way on this model. Let us explain that the sorceress is floating above the ground and her dress is made of crystal fabric. But Ana will surely tell more about it on the forum.

And the last miniature in this update is Cersei Lannister painted by Nameless. Yet another step forward in his project. Keep your fingers crossed for him icon_smile

I think it will be difficult to manage to post another update before Christmas, but stay tuned, as we'll be back very soon with something special. Call it a Christmas cracker if you wish icon_wink

 Slawol Was The Fastest...

New Miniatures

So we've got the first miniature of our Third Chest of Colors Miniature Exchange! It'd Sir Michael painted by Slawol for Yaro. But that's not the only new paintjob in our galleries!

Slawol managed to add two more new miniatures to his gallery: Protectorate of Menoth Choir Acolyte being a part of his project of painting miniatures in style inspired by John Blanche's works, and an Ogre Maneater Paymaster inspired by Beltane's version.

Ana painted Sergeant O'Donnel, a nice female military model from Euphoria Miniatures and Nameless presented this Wolf and Red diorama.

The last miniature in this update comes from Thrall, who painted this Standard Bearer of Chaos and hopes to give this miniature a new home.

Stay tuned for more, because we'll soon have something new in our galleries again!

 Benefits of Being Late

New Miniatures

Here we are with another update about news in our galleries. The first thing which will surely catch your attention is (now OOP) Rackham Chimera painted by Illusionrip. Expect to see more of his paintjobs on Rackham models in future. icon_smile

Then there's this converted Heresy Miniatures demon painted as the Devil by Nameless, who also shows us his Morrdha - Vampire Preacher.

Artur's gallery now includes photos of his latest Colonel Chenkov, and our other Warhammer 40.000 paintjobs are Rzymek's Blood Claws and Grey Hunters for Space Wolves space marines. Rzymek continues his bigger Bretonnian project, and so he painted this Grail Reliquary for that army.

Then we have something very rare: update of Lothar's gallery! This time it's this black version of winged Be'lakor, and another Be'Lakor without wings (as everybody should know red goes faster anyway icon_wink ).

Then there's a big update to Gildor's gallery - starting with this Wood Elf Lord and Dwarf Lord, including Gollum and Jedi Master Yoda, and ending with his most colorful and probably paintjob best so far - Leogante - Wings of Redemption from Andrea Miniatures.

Our delay with this update allowed me to include Ana's version of
Miranda from Hasslefree Miniatures. The dress was based on a real dress, and the miniature was a gift to the owner of that dress. There's one more nice female model to be shown soon, but you have to wait for it at least a few days...

 Not For Your Eyes Maybe...

New Miniatures

This time we have only a short update about new miniatures. Starting with Ana's fun project called "Peace and Love", inspired by so many things including the "King Rat" book, artistic aspect of Berlin, lack of tolerance, and mentality suffering from war experiences. The model is Rhasva Sentinel from Pegaso Models. Surely not something for everybody, pretty controversial concept and paintjob.

Then there's something much more normal for most people, especially Warhammer players: Demi_morgana's version of Krell. Yet another old model from Games Workshop. Call it a classic if you prefer icon_wink

Nameless prepared many new paintjobs but now we have only three of them in our gallery. The first of them is Shiro, the Akita Inu dog, based on Nameless' real dog. And if you prefer fantasy stuff over miniature animals, you should see this Beastlord called Slaav'bor, and Fil'maar - another Beastlord painted by Nameless.

Enjoy!

Don't Let A Sick Man Write!

New Miniatures

Being sick doesn't justify not posting this week's update. Let's try to keep it short, but there's so much to announce...

Dead finally could show us the High Elves he's been painting for a long time: Archers,Swordmasters of Hoeth, Dragon with interchangeable riders, mounted Lord and Battle Standard Bearer, Repeating Bolt Throwers, a mounted Mage, Hero and Battle Standard Bearer on foot, who can also be mounted on Tiranoc Chariots or a Lion Chariot of Chrace.

Then there's Rzymek and his: Dwarf Bolt Thrower and Stone Thrower, Lizardmen Skinks and another unit of Skinks, Kroxigor, Saurus Temple Guard and another unit of Saurus Temple Guard, Bretonnian King Louen Leoncoeur, Hero, Battle Standard Bearer, Duke, and an unusual version of the Green Knight painted as a regular Hero.

While we're at Bretonnians, let's show this Bretonnian Battle Standard Bearer by Lemartes, which won him an honorable mention at Slayer of Daemon contest. Then we have one more Warhammer Fantasy miniature: Heinrich Kemmler - the Lichemaster by Demi_morgana.

Moving on to Warhammer 40k we need to mention Artur's Brother Captain Stern of Grey Knights, and Thrall's version of Huron Blackheart. Then let's move to some stranger things icon_wink

The strangest thing must be the fact that I managed to finish another miniature! This one took at least 5 years (most of it spent waiting in a drawer, but it also counts) but at least you can see that Mahon is still painting... Here's the proof: a Templar of Day from Reaper Miniatures.

Another less popular model is a new miniature from Euphoria Miniatures: Nikolai, the ex-marine painted by Ana and awarded with Bronze trophy at the Slayer of Daemon contest. But it's not the last mini for this update! We finally managed to take acceptable photos of Ana's Chaos Dragon, a Golden Demon finalist from Germany. If you want to see this dragon from other angles, you can see more photos here.

Enjoy!

 Warhammer 40K Caught Their Attention

New Miniatures

It's time for another update and it's already Tuesday, so let's move on to it without any unnecessary talking.

First we have the third of Slawol's latest trio of 40K characters: Captain Draco of Black Templars. Then there's Demi_morgana with his renewed interest in Warhammer 40K miniatures, presenting us his new Death Guard Terminator. It's the first one and more are to come, so stay tuned!

And long-absent Przemo returns with a very interesting version of a cool ork character: Snikrot. Why do I say it's interesting? Just check the base... icon_wink

I think that's all for now, but very soon you will see something new from Artur!

 Space Wolves Started Howling!

New Miniatures

Another week and another update. This time, following the wave of interest in Space Wolves, we can see Slawol's new Wolf Priest and Inquisitor Lorr. There's also one more miniature by Slawol, which will be shown to you very soon!

Demi_morgana painted a Pud Thrower, with a nice swamp-themed base. If you want to find out what happened to this miniature later, you can check our forum for this information!

And finally I managed to take photos of the High Elf Hero painted by Ana during the painting demo at Golden Demon in Cologne. The subject was freehand painting, so you can see what she came up with during the demo. After the event it would be a shame to leave the model unfinished, so she decided to paint the rest of the model, so now you can see what she was doing during the Games Day.

Stay tuned for more!

 Armies Marching In

New Miniatures

As some of our painters have posted new pictures to their galleries, I thought you should be told about the updates. Let's start with the most prolific of these artists: Rzymek.

He posted pictures of a unit of Al Muktar's Desert Dogs, Chaos Knights, two Breonnian Sorceresses, Wood Elf Glade Riders, three Bretonnian Pegasus Knights, Voland's Venators and a High Elf Mage.

Galharen posts his works very rarely, but this time we managed to update his gallery with a few phoos at once. So we've got a very nice Dwarf Hero from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures, a High Elf Mage from Galharen's own army, a White Lion of Chrace serving as a filler for a unit of White Lions that can be seen in Galharen's gallery, and another thing from his army: a High Elf Bolt Thrower. Quite a nice army he has, doesn't he?

While we're at armies, we should mention another addition to Demi_morgana's Cryx force: a Deathjack.

Almost every painter in this update posted some High Elves. We must mention Kacpero with his Selafyn and Szary with this High Elf Hero.

To finish our update we need to show you Artur's Ragnar Blackmane and Przemo's Grimgor Ironhide. I hope you like them, as that's all we had for you this time...

 End In 3 Seconds...

New Miniatures

Not so much to show you this time. We can't always bring you large updates, and after the previous one most updates will feel small...

Let's start with our new Box of Brushes member: Thral, who shows us his latest Chaos Warrior in pretty unusual colors. I hope we will soon see something more in his gallery icon_smile

Then there's Ana with her Golden Demon winning Sir Berthillac, or "Morgana's Intrigue". This miniature depicting the moment when Sir Berthillac is not the Green Knight yet, and is falling into a trap set by Morgana who lures him with her handkerchief like a lady in need of help. Eventually Morgana will turn the knight into the Green Knight, the same we know from most common versions of this model.
This was Ana's entry for German Golden Demon, which won her gold in Warhammer single model category.

And last but not least, Demi_morgana presents his latest diorama, called "Three steps from eternity". The concept is that in 3 steps the soldier will cross the bomb detonator's beam and... BOOOM!

Enjoy!

What Good Is Miniature Exchange, And More...

New Miniatures

Well, I know it's been quite some time now since the last update but there have been many things keeping me away from my news-posting routines. I hope the huge load of miniatures which get mentioned here for the first time will make you feel it was worth waiting for. And believe me - we've got a huge variety of miniatures for you now! We've got units and characters, we've got sci-fi and fantasy, we've got Games Workshop and others. Just sit back and enjoy! icon_smile

Let's start with... Mahon's (which means: my own) miniature. Not because it's the best of them all, but because it's me who's writing the news, which allows me to tell you that I managed to paint anything again. Yes, it's been many months since the last paintjob from me, but when I heard about yet another edition of Chest of Colors Miniature Exchange, I wanted to participate in it again! So here is my Sartosan Vampire, which was painted for our forum friend Skrit.

If you haven't heard about the Miniature Exchange, let me explain that the idea is that every participant paints for another participant, who was randomly chosen. So you know who you paint for, but you don't know who's painting for you. And everybody tries to make a nice surprise for their recipient. Nice idea, isn't it? There have been such exchanges on other forums (eg. Reaper forum) but for us it was the second edition, and surely not the last one!

As my miniature went to Skrit, in exchange I received this Chaos Space Marines Lord from Przemosz. And Przemosz. received a model from Ana...

Here is Ana's entry for the Miniature Exchange: Alice, or "Sweet Night" from Hasslefree Miniatures. This was a gift for Przemosz., and also Ana's double-gold winning trophy in the Chick Challenge contest.

Ana received this model painted by Dead: Mineko the geisha from Hasslefree Miniatures. And Dead received a model from Irkuck, who's a fan of Wyrd miniatures, so he decided to paint Bishop for Dead.

Yet another Miniatures Exchange entry comes from Demi_morgana, who painted this model and received this Night Goblin Squig Hopper from Slawol.

This Vampire painted by Nameless is a Miniatures Exchange entry too. Of course there were more miniatures painted for the exchange and you can see most of them in the gallery.

And let's move to other miniatures now...
Starting with Demi_morgana and his Driller for Warmachine and Albion Giant for Warhammer. While we're at Warhammer, let's show you Irkuck's Bretonnian Knight and yet another Bretonnian Pegasus Knight painted by Lemartes.

Moving on with Warhammer, we've got Slawol who managed to post a lot of dwarf characters while I was unable to post updates to the news section. So what we have here is: Dwarf Engineer, Dwarf Runesmith, Dwarf Lord, Grombrindal, one more Dwarf Lord, and another Dwarf Engineer, followed by a full unit of Long Drong's Slayer Pirates. To continue with units, let's mention Rzymek, who posted a picture of a unit of Wood Elf Archers.

Then there's a lot of Warhammer 40.000 goodness:
Kacpero's new Ultramarines Champion, Artur's Space Marines Veteran Sergeant Aurelius, and yet a few more miniatures from Slawol: Eldrad Ulthran, Imperial Guard Commissar from Forge World, Eldar Phoenix Lord Asurmen, and a nicely weathered squad of Deathwing terminators. We've also got a squad of Space Wolves on bikes.

So we're done with Warhammer 40K. What's left?

Slawol again, this time with his Virago from Ilyad Games, and Gandalf the Grey from Lord of the Rings range. Even more LotR miniatures were painted by Gildor, who added this Elf, Haldir's Elf, one more Elf, and yet another Elf to his gallery.

Then there's Nameless with his Sewage Mutant and a full photo of the City Bowels diorama.

And to close this update with something really special, we kept Illusionrip and his new hobby: garage kits for the very end!
Just take a look at this Mirei model, and if you like it there are many other photos of her in Illusionrip's gallery.

You may have seen many of these models already, but I hope we managed to show you at least a few new paintjobs in today's news. And now let's move to a totally different subject...

So Many Minis And So Little Time...

New Miniatures

I know it's been about a month since the last news. I wish I could post news more often.... but with being heavily overloaded with work I had too little time for it.

But if you haven't found the lastest updates in our galleries by yourselves, I'll try to let you know what's new. So sit back and read on:

Let's start with Rzymek, who added the most miniatures to his gallery. In fact he added more than a whole Eldar army. If you want to see better and more detailed photos of this army, you can check them here: here is the Avatar, Vypers, Howling Banshees, Wave Serpent and Falcon Grav-tanks, Guardians, Farseers, Wraithlords, Wraithguard, Weapon Platforms, War Walkers, and the last photo is the unit of Dark Reapers. But Rzymek painted more than just these eldar. There's also a High Elf Lion Chariot, High Elf Repeater Bolt Thrower, and a nice unit of Bretonnian Knights. Impressive numbers, aren't they? icon_wink

And before we move too far from the subject of High Elves, let's remind that Lemartes painted a High Elf Lord on Elven Steed and uploaded it to his gallery. Then let's mention Nameless with three very different projects: one is a Slayer bust, that you can easily identify as Gotrek Gurnisson. The model was converted by Scibor for Nameless, who painted the bust. He also posted a Gamezone Elf, and a unit of Goblin Flea Riders. Then there's Artur with a full unit (yes, it happened!) of Plague Marines. 5 models, one of them with a Chaos icon and one in terminator armor. You mustn't miss it!

Irkuck experimented with different colors than he used before, and first painted a Khorne Berzerker for Warhammer 40K, followed by a Champion of Nurgle. And Demi_morgana posted a picture of his CofC Mini Exchange II miniature and in case you haven't seen this Chaos Knight you should do it. It's been in his gallery for some time now, but I noticed that few people managed to see it.

And to close the news today, let's take a look at Ana's unit of Empire Handgunners for Warhammer. They were all decorated with freehand patterns inspired by renaissance clothes. To see more detailed photos you should check the individual pictures of the Standard Bearer, unit's Champion, their Musician, one Handgunner and the last Handgunner.

Enjoy and see you soon (hopefully sooner than before) icon_biggrin

 It's All About Patience!

New Miniatures

You must have started doubting if there will ever by any more news on this site. icon_wink
I am fine, just my job kept me too busy to collect and post the news about new miniatures in our galleries. I bet you have already seen most of the photos, but I'll try to surprise you with a few new ones.

Szary posted a great bust of Leonardo - Dwarf Pilot from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures. There will be another SMM bust posted to another gallery soon, but let's keep it secret for now...

Demi_morgana showed us two miniatures for his Cryx forces: Leviathan and Nightmare, and Golab from the Dark Age range.

Illusionrip returned from France with an impressive version of the Great Unclean One of Nurgle. You can see some detail closeups and another view in his gallery. There's also a very eyecatching interpretation of Sigvald the Magnificent.

Irkuck posted another Dark Elf in his Warhammer gallery. This time it's a Witch Elf. While we're at elves we should mention Szczurek's Drycha the dryad from Wood Elves range.

Kacpero finished his long-time project of painting Red Scorpions Space Marines. The second squad of Red Scorpions is also shown in his gallery. He also managed to finish a Space Marine Hero from Ultramarines chapter. Compare this model to the Red Scorpions - they're so different...

Gildor posted a Commissar from Imperial Guard range, and Rentall shows us his latest Chaos Space Marines Lord in terminator armor.

I guess Rzymek never fails to show something new! This time it's a large Wood Elves team for Blood Bowl, a Bretonnian Trebuchet, and a Stegadon for Lizardmen.

I hope I haven't missed anything. Prepare for something more in a few days. Enjoy icon_smile

 Diversity Is The Key!

New Miniatures

A day behind my planned schedule, but I think it's still good time to post some news!

Let's start with Szary, who painted this Empire General on Griffon. He may not be the most prolific painter, but this makes his new paintjobs even more interesting to check out.

Then there's Demi_morgana with another Warmachine model: Nightmare. Big, dirty, rusty... Just like Irkuck's World Eaters in pre-heresy colors. You can see these World Eaters Terminators and World Eaters Berzerkers in his gallery.

Then there's Ana with only one small miniature: the Cricket. And Nameless with two new additions to his gallery: Kark Silkasson - Vorag Barbarian and Psycho Ray, the Zombie Hunter.

And you will find a few new pictures in the Box of Brushes too: Hacket painted a dirty Grey Knight, Rzymek shows another unit of Dark Elf Cold One Knights, and Slawol added Eldar Farseer Eldrad Ulthran to his gallery.

I think the diversity will make it an interesting update. icon_biggrin

 Late With The News

New Miniatures

Hello,

I am a bit late with another update about new pictures in our galleries, so let's not delay it any more. Let's start right now!

The most new pictures appeared in Slawol's gallery. They are: Slann Mage-Priest, Dragon Slayer, Orc Shaman, Orc Boss and Space Marine Hero.

Then there's Demi_morgana with his new Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought and more views of the Venerable Dreadnought. In his Warmachine gallery you can also find a Cancerworm and a Mariner.

And the last updates can be found in Kuczek's gallery: you can see a new Dwarf Hero and a Wood Elf Spellsinger there.

 Newcomers and Comebacks...

New Miniatures

This time I am unsure what to start with. Great comebacks or newcomers? So let me start with something totally different!

Demi_morgana added something very uncommon to his gallery: it's a Chaos Dwarf Pit Stop diorama. I don't think you've seen too many of them before... icon_wink

Ana added a picture of the Dark Cheshire model from Anima Tactics range. Because the model was painted to represent the character's background - as presented by its owner - the paintjob may be difficult to understand without knowing the character it is supposed to represent, you may wish to check this and this post, which should explain a lot about several elements of this paintjob.

Then there's our great comeback - our el_kornikus managed to show us his Harlequin Death Jester, which won him silver at Golden Demon 2008 in Poland. There's also his latest Space Wolf model in his gallery.

But we also have two new galleries in the Box of Brushes section. The first belongs to Gazza, who presents his Butcher of Khador, Typhus - the Herald of Nurgle, Dwarf from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures, Legolas, Dwarf Thane and Bilbo Baggins. The second belongs to Hacket, who has only one miniature in the gallery, but we hope more will follow soon. The model is
Dalia, and I think it's a good starting point for his gallery icon_smile

Enjoy!

 Introducing Lemartes

New Miniatures

Another week means time for another update. This time let me start with Ana's next squad of Plague Marines of Nurgle. This time they're the standard metal plague marines with only minor conversions and weapon swaps. Still for the same army in pre-heresy colors.

Then we've got Nameless and two miniatures in 15mm scale: a Grancroid and Uncroid for Demonworld.

Gildor finished his Pedro Kantor - Chapter Master of Crimson Fists space marines, so now you can see if he's made any progress since the Golden Demon in 2008, which was his last chance to enter as a youngblood.

And to close this update we've got the new guy, Lemartes, with a few painted miniatures from him: There's a Black Templars commander, Dark Angels commander, Eldar Exarch, Eldar Falcon Grav-Tank, Blood Angels assault squad, Blood Angels devastators and a Bretonnian Knight.

Good luck, Lemartes! We hope you will enjoy the hobby as much as we do!

 Knights Knights Knights

New Miniatures

You think you were surpriseds by the previous news? So what are you going to say about this:

Benathai presents his paintjobs on miniatures from a new genre and new scale: They are 54mm historical models. You can see these knights here, here and here. And I can assure you - there will be more to follow!

Demi_morgana stays in the same theme and also shows us a knight. A Chaos Knight to be more precise. But does it really matter? icon_wink

And for those who are not into historical or fantasy miniatures, we've got a Space Wolf Terminator painted by Irkuck.

Enjoy! icon_smile

 Big Surprise From One Painter

New Miniatures

This time it's a big announcement, but let's start with our usual updates.

First we have Demi_morgana, who added some more mud and weathering to his Ramshackle Tanker model. If you want you can compare the "before" and "after" versions in his gallery.

Then we have Nameless and his "War. War Never Changes." diorama, which is his entry in the second round of the Iron Painter contest. This time the theme was "Full Metal Jacket".

Rzymek painted a great unit of Dark Elf Cold One Knights and an interesting version of Empire War Altar. I wonder what do you think about these...

Then there's Artur and his favorite subject: Nurgle Space Marines! There are three of them this time: the first Chaos Space Marine of Nurgle is here, then there's another Chaos Space Marine of Nurgle and the last Chaos Space Marine of Nurgle is here. Did he surprise us with these minis? I don't think so... icon_wink

But this will be surprising to most of us! The big custodian project is finished! Benathai managed to paint the last three miniatures and thus managed to finish painting the army. If you want to see the last three additions to this project, here they are: the Custodian Commander, Custodian Hero and Custodian Standard Bearer. And I wouldn't expect to see any more custodians any day soon... But I don't think you are going to miss them.

Everybody take care!

War. War Never Changes.

 Remakes in Miniatures

New Miniatures

Another Monday, time for another update...
I noticed that this time we present a few models which had been painted before by the same painters. So it seems remakes are not only a movies thing. icon_wink

Let me start with Demi_morgana and something which caught my attention: He used parts of models from Ramshackle Games to create this Tanker. But when I was browsing his gallery I noticed a few things which I haven't seen before: How could I miss this Leman Russ tank and yet another Leman Russ? And in Demi_morgana's Warmachine gallery there is a new photo of this Harrower. Pretty nice, isn't it?

Then there's Kacpero and his new Emperor's Champion. He already painted one before, so this time he decided to paint this one with more contrast and I think I like the new one more. But I think you can compare them and judge by yourselves..

And while we're at Warhammer 40K and Space Marines, let me show you this Dark Angels Grand Master Azrael with his Helmet Bearer, that was painted by Ana. She started this paintjob about a year ago and had to abandon this project for a longer time until now that she returned to this model and managed to finish it. Better late then never icon_wink But if you prefer Chaos Space Marines, there's another version of the Daemon Prince of Nurgle. Similar color scheme but bolder contrast this time. Surely this one is better as far as painting technique goes, but which one you like more is a question of personal preference. I think I prefer the new one, but I like strong shading in general.

And the last information this time is about a new gallery on our site: Now Gildor's gallery contains only three miniatures, but we hope to see more of his paintjobs soon. Gildor won gold in Youngbloods category at Golden Demon Poland 2008, and hopes it was not the last trophy for him icon_wink
Wish him luck...

 Downsides of Being Sick

New Miniatures

I know you had to wait for this update longer than usually, but state of my health didn't allow me to do it any earlier. But at last I managed to collect the new pictures in our galleries for you:

Let's start with Slawol and his dwarfs. There are quite many of them in his gallery, including a Daemon Slayer, Giant Slayer, another Daemon Slayer and a Dragon Slayer. Then there's Garagrim Ironfist, one group of Doom Seekers and yet more Doom Seekers, one Slayer Command Group and another Slayer Command Group and some Troll Slayers. Let's not forget to mention that there's also a new Goblin Hewer in Slawol's gallery!

And if you're not really interested in fantasy miniatures, you may prefer to see the last Black Templar and Black Templars Standard Bearer painted by Kacpero for the Black Templars warband. Their opponents, a Khorne Berzerkers warband, is also finished now, after Przemosz. painted the last two models for this project: a Chaos Lord of Khorne and an Aspiring Champion of Khorne.

Then there's Ana with her two new works: a Wood Elf Wardancer Lord and Lens Mendekenn on a complex base depicting this elf hero decapitating a gargoyle.

Demon Color managed to finish Space Marines Captain Sicarius, and Demi_morgana posted two new things to his gallery: a Chaos Warrior and a Seether.

In the meantime Nameless decided to participate in the Iron Painter competition, and his first entry, the Nightbringer is already in his gallery. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him, and wish him good luck and a lot of determination!

 Dealing With Bad Weather

New Miniatures

Snow is melting, everything is grey and boring outside, so let us bring a little color with our painted miniatures! icon_smile Let's start with Irkuck and his latest paintjobs: Dark Elf Malus Darkblade, and Chaos Sorcerer of Slaanesh for Chaos Space Marines.

Then there's Demi_morgana with Dwarf King Thorgrim Grudgebearer on his Throne of Power and Train-man from the Pulp City range.

If you're more into Warhammer Empire, there's Rzymek's Steam Tank, unit of Flagellants, and 15 Knights. I hope these little colorful models make your day a bit brighter... icon_biggrin

That's How We Start The New Year!

New Miniatures

So you think you've seen BIG news? You'll see you were wrong...
Not that it was intentional. It's a result of lack of time on my end, but at least this allowed me to collect enough new miniatures in our galleries to make really impressive piece of news this time. So without any further delay - let us start!

Do you want to see a few more Golden Demon entries? I guess you do. icon_wink So let's start with Illusionrip and his silver-winning Juggernaut of Khorne, and for your pleasure we also have another view of this Juggernaut. If you want to see more of his works, there's also his finalist: Typhus.

If you want more, there's Kuczek's finalist from the Lord of the Rings category: Eowyn. Nice change from all those manly warriors, don't you think?

But not for long! Kacpero's gallery was updated with pictures of the Black Templars Terminator Chaplain and Black Templars squad he presented at the Polish Golden Demon 2008. If you want to have a closer look at the squad, you can see the members here: Black Templar Sword Brother #1, Black Templar Sword Brother #2, Black Templar Sword Brother #3, Black Templar Sword Brother #4 (better known as Grimaldus), Black Templar Sword Brother #5 and Black Templar Sword Brother #6. But don't think it's all!

There's also Ana's Harlequin Shadowseer, which won her bronze at the Golden Demon! And while we're at it, she also managed to post a picture of a Dark Angels Command Group she was painting for quite some time. Closer photos of members of this squad can be seen here: Dark Angels Space Marine #1, Dark Angels Space Marine #2, Dark Angels Space Marine #3, Dark Angels Space Marine #4 and Dark Angels Space Marine #5. OK, now we have a good part of this update behind us, or so I think... icon_smile

Continuing with the subject of Golden Demon entries we should take a look at Elvers' gallery. We can find photos of his two entries there: an abandoned Sentinel and a Death Korps of Krieg diorama. If you want to see more views of these models, you should visit the gallery and you'll find quite many of them there.

Then there's Slawol with better photos of his bronze-winning Baneblade and another update for his long-time project of painting a Vampire Counts army. This time we can see a unit of Black Knights, a Nightmare, Varghulf #1, Varghulf #2 and yet another Necromancer. I believe the army should be nearly finished at this point...

I think we're done with this part of Golden Demon entries for now. There will be more of them later, but now let's move to other models - starting with Demon Color and his Caradryan - Captain of the Phoenix Guard. It's a good example of his own style, which some love and some hate, but very few don't recognize. Don't you agree?

I think that Artur is another person whose style is pretty characteristic and special. You may like it or not, but I think it's quite different to how most painters paint. This time we have two new miniatures from him: a Chaos Space Marines Sorcerer and a Chaos Space Marine of Nurgle. And while we're at Nurgle models, let's check what's new in the gallery of yet another fan of Nurgle miniatures - Demi_morgana. No, there's no new Nurgle stuff this time, but I found there quite a few miniatures which haven't been presented in the news yet! So what are they?

Demi_morgana's new interest is CAV, and we can see two things for this game: Lance Tanks and a Centurion. And in his Warmachine gallery I found pictures of a Wreck Marker, Bokur Ogrun, Seether and a Witch Coven. And if you want nothing else but Warhammer miniatures, you should check his Herald of Khorne out. This should do for now...

...At least until you see Szary's Kurt Helborg or Dead's High Elf Hero on a Lion. And if you want some more High Elves, you should check Rzymek's gallery for his latest High Elf Dragon. You see, we also paint Warhammer models! icon_biggrin

And to finish this update we have one little but funny paintjob from Irkuck, who really liked Wyrd miniatures and coverted Baby Kade into such a funny Christmas model.

Take care and all the best for he new year! icon_smile

 Golden Demon Winners and More...

New Miniatures

So here we are with another batch of photos of painted miniatures!

Let's start with Nameless, who painted a Daemonette of Slaanesh and a White Queen. The latter was his entry in the first ChestOfColors miniature exchange.

Szary posted a picture of his Harlequin troupe, which won him gold at the Polish Golden Demon 2008 in Regiment/Squad category. As you can see they're heavily inspired by the villains from the comics about Batman. Here are more detailed photos of the Joker, Riddler and Poison Ivy. More are to follow...

Galharen posted pictures of his High Elves: High Elf Mage, High Elf Dragon Princes, High Elf Silver Helms, High Elf Spearmen, High Elf White Lions, High Elf Archers, and High Elf Chariot.

Benathai uploaded another squad of Assault Custodians to his gallery, and Kacpero has a photo of his latest Beastman for Warhammer in his gallery. Not the best sculpt in the world, but it's still worth checking out to see how well he painted the beastman's face.

Demon Color showed us his latest High Elf Hero from Avatars of War. You just can't miss this shiny NMM armor! Very different than the latest works from Przemosz, who has two new pictures in his gallery: Kharn the Betrayer and Huron Blackheart.

Now, Ana added her gold-winning Golden Demon entry: Ultramarines Venerable Dreadnought, which was a commissioned model inspired by Demonherald's "Brother Captain Severus". Did she manage to make this model her own and to paint it different than the original? You can see it by checking the picture in her gallery.

Enjoy your stay at Chest of Colors :)

Cleaning After Golden Demon Poland 2008

New Miniatures

What we've got here is the first batch of miniatures after the Golden Demon! So prepare for some interesting miniatures here...

First there's something from Nameless, who painted a few spirit hosts for Warhammer. While the models are only of tabletop quality, his idea makes these models an interesting addition to his gallery of lower quality paintjobs. There will be something else, of higher quality, added to his gallery soon, so stay tuned for more paintjobs from Nameless!

Artur used the idea which many Imperial Guard players used to discuss, and created an Imperial Guard Rough Rider riding a motorcycle! But that's not all - he also painted two Death Guard Terminators of Nurgle, which can be seen here and here. He seems to like Nurgle models, doesn't he?

Slawol updated his galleries with two more units from the Vampire Counts army: Dire Wolves and another Necromancer.

Rzymek added many pictures of his High Elves for Warhammer. There is
a General, Battle Standard Bearer, High Elf Mage on Elven Steed and High Elf Mage on foot, Lion Chariot of Chrace, Repeater Bolt Thrower and yet another one, a unit of Silver Helms, Archers and another unit of Archers, Spearmen, and another unit of Spearmen or Lothern Sea Guard.

Demi_morgana showed us his latest commission: Morghur the beastman herald of Nurgle. You may be surprised how different this model is than most of Demi_morgana's earlier works.

Eliash presents the picture of his Golden Demon finalist, which he named "Where's my hand?". It's a transformer-like model made from Tau parts. While insufficiently set in Warhammer 40K universe to become a winner, this model was interesting enough to make it to the finals, and earn Eliash honorable mention.

Demon Color posted pictures of his scratch-built Golden Demon entry: Shagoot. Even though the miniature didn't win him any Golden Demon, you should check the model out anyway. It's big, it's colorful, it is a good representative of Demon Color's style!

Ana posted photographs of one of her Golden Demon winning entries. This is the squad of Plague Marines of Nurgle which won her bronze in the Regiment/Squad category. Don't miss the freehand on the banner! Photos of other entries are yet to come...

 Finished With The Elves...

New Miniatures

We started this batch of updates with elves, and we will end it with... even more elves. icon_biggrin

If you want to see what's new in our galleries, be sure to check Kuczek's gallery. There are a few ... no! not elves yet! ... dwarfs. We have King Thorgrim Grudgebearer on Throne of Power, Dwarf King Alrik and Shieldbearers, Dwarf Lord, old version of Gotrek and new version of Gotrek, Felix, Snorri, Dragon Slayer, Daemon Slayer and the White Dwarf. Quite a few, huh? And we still haven't reached the elves...

Irkuck painted some miniatures for gaming, namely some Confrontation stuff: a bunch of Fiannas, Hogarth the Colossus, Kelt Warriors, Fury Warriors and Kelt Hunters. And now we're getting to the elves!

You may have already seen Romek's High Elf Mage, but there are also some other new elves in the Box of Brushes gallery. Rentall's gallery was updated with photos of his Wood Elf Glade Riders and Wood Elf Lord on Great Stag. And that was all about the elves. icon_wink

 WOW! 12 Galleries Updated!

New Miniatures

It's been a long time since the last news here. But on the other hand this allowed me to collect enough new miniatures in our galleries for the huge update you are reading now! So witout any unnecessary introductions, let us start with the miniatures!

Illusionrip painted Ultramarines Captain Sicarius. Demi_morgana gave the Big Fat Uncle from Scibor Miniatures another try. Check the results and compare them with the previous version presented earlier in his gallery. icon_smile

Szary added two very nice characters to his skaven army: Plaguelord Skrolk and a Skaven Warlord. If you check out the whole gallery of his army, you will know what a sight it must be on the tabletop!

Dead seems to be in his 'blue period' (remember the 'red period' in the history of Games Workshop? icon_biggrin ), so it's no wonder his High Elf Mounted Mage, High Elf Hero and Bretonnian Hero on Pegasus are painted in various shades of ... blue.

Espoo updated his gallery after his long absence. You can see three Graylords here, but also on two additional photos here and here. But if you're more interested in characters than in troops, you may prefer his version of Irusk.

Slawol has been painting a Vampire Counts army, and so he showed us models from this army: A Necromancer, a unit of Fell Bats, a Banshee, a few Wraiths and Crypt Ghouls. Quite many, don't you think? But there's also another
Dark Elf Assassin painted in tiger-striped color scheme, if you want something else than hordes of undead...

Nameless painted his first bust and sticking to his tradition of giving his models names, he chose the name of Huri Khan for the bust.

DiaCon, formerly a member of the Chest of Colors, doesn't have enough time for the hobby now, so he moved from Chest of Colors to Box of Brushes, where his involvement can be much more relaxed. His gallery was updated with quite a few Privateer Press miniatures, painted mostly for gaming. But this doesn't mean you will not like them. If you want to know, you need to check them out...

And now there's a surprise for you: RIP, our long absent member of Box of Brushes, posted a few miniatures in his characteristic style with very limited palette of colors. The new works are: a Terminator Champion, another Terminator and a Tyranid Hive Tyrant heavily inspired by H.R.Giger's Alien.

For those of you who prefer more colorful works, Demon Color returned with a Sorcerer of Tzeentch. It's good to see anything new from him after such a long break!

Another neat and clean paintjob appeared in Artur's gallery, and it's a Champion of Nurgle from the Warhammer range. If you like Artur's neat and precise style - you should like this paintjob too!

And the last information is that a new painter joined the ranks of Box of Brushes. Rzymek (because that's his nickname) showed us his
Eldar Harlequin Shadowseer, Wood Elf Dragon and Wood Elf Dragon and Treeman on one collage. If you like his works, expect some more in future.

Now I believe you must be fed up with miniatures, so I'll let you get some rest. Take care and I hope to see you soon. icon_smile

 Why I Don't Paint

New Miniatures

You want to know why I don't paint? Read this piece of news and you will know. You will surely know...

This was a busy week for me and I had to focus on taking photos of miniatures painted by other painters from our group. And these new paintjobs were pretty plentiful!

Let's start with Slawol, who posted some new and some older miniatures to his gallery. The biggest of them is surely the Iron Warriors Dreadnought, but if you want something smaller you may prefer Marco Colombo, Space Marines Captain Tycho, or even Bilbo Baggins. And in case you think we don't show enough regimental quality paintjobs, you shouldn't miss his dwarf Troll Slayers. There are 29 of them! Is this enough?
You don't think so?

So let's move to Dead's paintjobs! This time it's the first batch of miniatures painted for a whole army of High Elves. There's a unit of 21 High Elf Spearmen, one more High Elf Mage, and another big model in this update: a High Elf Chariot. Still not enough? OK...

In this case you should visit Kacpero's gallery and see his Emperor's Champion and 5 more Black Templars Sword Brethren: first, second, third, fourth and fifth.
Are you satisfied now, after seeing more than 60 new models? Not yet???

So I have to show you the last three miniatures of this update. Rentall painted a well known hobbit: Frodo Baggins, and something from the new range of Demons of Chaos: a very special demonette of Slaanesh called The Masque. And check if we saved the best for last: I hope you like Artur's new Space Marines Terminator. I think it's very likely...

And to return to our initial question why I don't paint, let me answer you: you should already know. And if you don't, just count the miniatures in this update. I spent so much time preparing this update, that I had no time for painting. But I hope it was worth the effort and you enjoyed it. icon_biggrin

 Six New Paintjobs

New Miniatures

It seems we have only a small update today. We have only a few new painted miniatures in our galleries, but it doesn't mean they're not worth your attention. icon_wink

To, to keep it short: there's Ana's Dark Elf Supreme Sorceress and her Death Guard Dreadnought of Nurgle. And in Kacpero's gallery you can see new Black Templars: Apothecary, and three Sword Brethren: first, second and third.

As you see - it's only six new miniatures, but hopefully they're worth a look. icon_smile

Enjoy!

 Orks, Elves and Demons

New Miniatures

So what's new?

This time it's Ana's converted Demon Prince of Nurgle. She added wings and painted him in the pre-heresy Death Guard color scheme. Yes, that's yet another model for the same army of Death Guard Chaos Space Marines...

Szary painted a Standard Bearer for the army of Wood Elves he's been painting for a while already. Another standard and another fine freehand painting depicting just another animal!

There's also a unit of Swordmasters for High Elves and a mounted Bishop.

Now that's an interesting conversion and paintjob! icon_smile

And if you want something really different, we've got something for you. It doesn't happen very often that anyone of us paints an Ork, and it doesn't happen that Eliash posts an update to his gallery. But both of these things actually happened and I am happy to present a nice Ork Warboss mounted on a bike, and two Painboys with gretchin assistants: here's the first painboy, the other painboy is here. We hope you like them.

Soon we'll have something more for you to see, but I guess it won't be ready before the weekend. icon_wink

 Ariel and Aurelius

New Miniatures

This time we've got only two new painted miniatures in our gallery, but I hope they're worth your attention.

The first of them was painted by Ana. It's a pretty old miniature from Warhammer Wood Elves range, and it's their queen - Ariel. Ana said she really enjoyed painting this model, painting it as an eerie and ethereal, almost glowing creature. We hope you'll like her.

The other model is from Illusionrip. It's his version of Space Marines Veteran Sergeant Aurelius. He had to stick to the Codex Astartes while painting this model, but this resulted in a true Ultramarine. Check the results out. icon_smile

Ah, there will be more updates to the gallery soon. Very soon. So stay tuned!

Have We Ever Had a Bigger Update?

New Miniatures

We're trying to continue with our tradition of Monday news. Here's what's new in our galleries:

So let's start with Slawol, who painted a group of Grave Guard for Warhammer and Frodo Baggins from Lord of the Rings range.

Dead painted one "fast" tabletop paintjob: a Harpy for his brother's army and a High Elf Mage with a really nice freehand on the back of his cape.

Irkuck changed his earlier Space Marines Chaplain into Chaplain redux. I think the new base doesn't distract from the model as much as the previous one did...

Szary painted quite a few Wood Elves, including a unit of Glade Riders (tabletop quality again? no way...) and a Wardancer Hero.

Artur painted a cartoonish Tir-Na-Bor Thermo Warrior from Confrontation, Typhus - the Herald of Nurgle for Warhammer 40K, and a Space Marine with meltagun - nice and weathered!

Romek returned with a Dark Elf Reaper Bolt Thrower. Quite an interesting color scheme for Dark Elves, don't you think?

And last but not least, Ana painted another combat suit for Tau: this time it's XV-89 Crisis Battlesuit, and another version of Taxxis - the queen of undead. Some exposed skin and a little pretty female miniature here, so if you mind a little nudity, better avoid this one! ;)

Enjoy!

 Updates From Three Painters

New Miniatures

Even though it's slightly later than usually, we still have the update for you: a few new miniatures in our galleries!

First there's Ana's Tau XV84 Crisis Battlesuit, painted in a pretty unusual (for Tau) colorscheme and covered with quite severe weathering. It's the first Tau painted by her and there's another one to join him in the gallery soon!

Then there's Elvers with his Kasrkin Sergeant and Familiar. Unfortunately the pictures are very small, but maybe you want to see them anyway? icon_smile

And finally, Nameless uploaded two new pictures to his gallery. One of them is Reaper's Christmas Sophie and... prepare for a surprise.... a unit of Savage Orc Boar Riders painted as many as 10 or 15 years ago. Nice surprise, don't you think? With this nostalgic photo we're saying: another update is coming! icon_wink

 For all the Ultramarines Fans!

New Miniatures

Hi all,

There's just one new miniature in our gallery, but I believe it's worth checking out. Especially if you like Space Marines, you should like Szary's new paintjob. It's the miniature he's been painting for quite a long time, but I hope it was worth the effort. I will leave the judgement up to you though!

So all I have to do now is to introduce Lord Marneus Calgar of Ultramarines to you! In Szary's gallery for your viewing pleasure!

 Girl Power!

New Miniatures

Hello all,

Today I've got a few new models to show you. And believe me, as soon as I cope with photos there will be more! I think let's start with our new painter's miniature: Artur painted another weathered Space Marines Hero, and I think the model turned out pretty nice!

Illusionrip painted a beautiful lady sculpted by Tom Meier for Dark Sword Miniatures: Puna Deleena. Admirers of Mr. Meier's talent should check this model out!

And while we're at pretty ladies there's even more: Ana painted a Hasslefree Miniature again. This time it's Taxxis - queen of undead with her troll Deth. Calling this lady nude would be more accurate than calling her dressed. But I think I'll leave it up to you.

And the last miniature this time comes from Nameless, who made significant progress in his painting abilities, and painted this sweet goblin lady called Wazabi. She was his entry for Chick Challenge 2008, and we'll see if it was a lucky entry. But for now let us leave you guessing...

 Back Online With New Photos!

New Miniatures

I would like to apologize for our absence. Our website was disabled for the time of upgrades done to some of the site's components and the server. We didn't want to risk loss of data, so the site was switched off for some time. Now we're back and hopefully you will like the updates to our galleries...

Let's start with Irkuck who painted the new High Elf Mage. But the most surprising part of this update is the new member of Box of Brushes. His name is Artur and you can see his works here. He's got quite a few interesting works in his gallery: a Plague Marine and a Grey Knight from Warhammer 40K, an Armoured Zombie and Tan-Kair from Confrontation, and Pi-Well from Infinity.
Now what do you think about his style? icon_smile

 Only One New Miniature?

New Miniatures

This time there's just one new miniature in our gallery. Of course, more will come soon, but for now we can only show this one model to you. But we believe it's still worth checking out! What's this?

Well, Ana managed to finish her Space Marines Commander Culln from Forge World. This particular model's casting quality was so bad, that she had much work making the model look neater and tidier. Fortunately the model was supposed to be painted with pretty heavy weathering, which allowed to conceal some problems of the casting. Take a peek at the model, we hope you will like it. icon_biggrin

 Miniatures Waiting For Photos

New Miniatures

I had several miniatures from our painters waiting on my shelf for a photo session, but had no time to take photographs which would do them justice. So as soon as the weekend came I decided to take and upload as many photos as possible. Even though there are still a few miniatures waiting in the queue, there's a nice collection of new paintjobs for you to see:

Dead continues with his High Elves. This time you can see his High Elf Mage. If you like High Elves, you should stay tuned for more!

Kacpero shows the first miniatures from the small Black Templars force he's painting. This time it's a Chaplain and a squad of Neophytes. There will be more of them, as I've already seen some WIP pictures.

Przemosz.'s gallery was updated with a few new pictures, including a Chaos Space Marines Aspiring Champion, Chaos Sorcerer from GameZone, and Jotun - Cyber Zombie from Hasslefree Miniatures. Some of these miniatures will be sold on eBay, so keep checking our auctions to avoid missing them... icon_wink

 Better Late Than Never...

New Miniatures

Hi all,

We're a bit late with this week's update, but it didn't mean it wouldn't come...
It was a busy time for us here, and posting this update dropped a little lower on our priority list this time, so maybe some of you managed to find the new miniatures by yourselves. But if you hadn't, here they go:

Illusionrip's gallery was updated with his Golden Demon winnning Tyranid Hive Tyrant, which won him silver in France this year. You can't miss this paintjob, even if you've seem other pictures of this model, the quality is surely better here!

Szary updated his Skaven gallery with so many new pictures of really nice miniatures from his own army, that it would make little sense to list them all here. If you would like to see Szary's Skaven army, just visit this gallery.

Benathai continued with Adeptus Custodes, but this time he started the last unit: Assault Custodians. Check them out!

Przemosz. posted a new picture of his Bane Goliaths from the AT-43 range, and a Herald of Khorne (or simply a Bonecrusher of Khorne). There will be more updates in Przemosz.'s galleries to come as soon as I manage to take photos of them!

Irkuck posted another white chaplain. This time it's a Space Marines Chaplain on Jump Pack. Pretty nice miniature, especially in this uncommon color scheme!

Demi_morgana presents us a Zombie bust from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures. What do you think about Demi_morgana's painting in this scale?

We'll close this update with Nameless' three new submissions: Chef from Black Scorpion Miniatures, and two Reaper miniatures: Lurien the Ghost and Nivar the Wraith. The Chef is my favorite of the three, but it doesn't mean it has to be yours too...

Many New Minis After Some Technical Difficulties

New Miniatures

Hi all!

After dealing with some technical issues I found enough time to post some new photos to our galleries. Let me start with Kacpero's Golden Demon entry - Arwen. It's quite a popular miniature, which doesn't surprise me too much, and now Kacpero wanted to paint his own version...

Ana painted another (and hopefully the last for some time) Ogre Rhinox Rider. This time the original model from Forgeworld was converted into a drummer. To make things a little more interesting, he was seated on a cow skin and ... well, check the gallery to see the other details icon_wink

And Przemosz. continues with Khorne Berzerkers, this time adding an Aspiring Champion for them. Dirty and weathered, this model may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I believe many may like it a lot icon_smile But that's not the only new thing from him - he also painted Samael from Helldorado range. I think it's his first Helldorado miniature, so you may wish to check it out...

And if you want to see even more - you should check Demi_morgana's three new Leman Russ tanks in his Warhammer 40K gallery.

And to finish this update, let me mention Slawol's Vampire Counts Lord.

See you the next time! icon_biggrin

 You Don't Always Win...

New Miniatures

Hi all,
The last weekend was a weekend of success and failure for me. I managed to fail to achieve my goal of finishing a Golden Demon entry, so I won't have anything to present at GD France 2008. On the other hand I managed to take a few photos of miniatures painted by my team-mates! So let's move to more joyful things now icon_wink

Dead finished his big project of painting a High Elf Dragon. The thing is even more interesting as he included an extra head and two extra riders, and made them interchangeable, so that the dragon can be easily customized! And there's something more in his gallery, which can be interesting for all the Vampire Counts fans out there: Vlad von Carstein (the new version).

I posted pictures of Przemosz.'s gladiators for the Red Sand Blue Sky game. There are two gladiators painted for his own use, and two painted for sale. And they all come with playable arenas! icon_smile

Slawol painted a Dark Elf Assassin., which was supposed to be a copy of Ija's version. Did he succeed? Well check the miniature out and decide by yourselves...

 7 Dwarfs Looking for Snow-White...

New Miniatures

Weekends are usually the time when I take photos of the new miniatures. This was one busy weekend, which resulted in a lot of new additions to our galleries.

The heroine of today's update is without any doubt Kuczek. She managed to add 9 (yes, nine!) new paintjobs to her gallery. Seven of them are... well... stunties, dwarves, dwarfs - whatever you feel like calling them icon_smile Here is a Dwarf Lord, a Dwarf Standard Bearer, and yet another Dwarf Standard Bearer, or for a change a Dwarf Engineer, and another Dwarf Lord, yet another Dwarf Lord, and the last Dwarf Lord. All they're missing is Snow-white to accompany them. But if you pay enough attention to Kuczek's gallery you may find two ladies there, so maybe one of them is Snow-white in disguise? No, I don't think so. They look much more like a Succubus and a Wraith. But they're nice, nonetheless icon_smile

Then there was Slawol with his Kurt Helborg. The paintjob was supposed to look like the official paintjob of the Games Workshop's version, and I think he managed to achieve this task pretty well.

I finally re-took photos of Illusionrip's Lunar Wolf. I already took pictures of him once, but they were terribly grainy due to too high ISO setting. This taught me to double-check settings of my camera before taking any photos to avoid repeating the same job over and over again...

And just because we started with a nice group of short men, let's finish this update with anothe nice and friendly bunch - this time it will be a group of Berzerkers of Khorne by Przemosz. They may not be stellar paintjobs, but they were supposed to be tabletop quality paintjobs, and I believe they are at least satisfactory! One has to like this dirt and verdigris all over them, and the nice bases they have.

Have a nice day!

Dwarf Lord

 Three Galleries Updated

New Miniatures

The last weekend resulted in another update to three galleries. Demi_morgana continued with his "Forces of Evil" project, presenting the final photo of his Plaguebearer and some new paintjobs, namely: Chaos Warrior, and two Snotlings. I found the tiny guys really funny, so maybe you find them amusing too? icon_biggrin

Przemosz. managed to show new photos of his older works: Deceiver from Necrons army, this particular one was supposed to be used as a Demon Prince of Chaos. But there's also a real Demon Prince, another older paintjob from Przemosz. The last new thing in his gallery is his Chaos Space Marines Lord or (more accurately) a Raptor. Check him out to see the improvement in Przemosz.'s skills since the time he painted this model icon_smile

And lats but not least, we've got some news from Nameless. There's Lorus Hightower, Lorielle Silverrain and Yamcha - all about tabletop quality paintjobs. But if you want something better, there are a few: Haunt, Lion's Lancer, and Evil Wizard.

Enjoy!

 Forces of Evil Approaching!

New Miniatures

There are a few new pictures of our painted miniatures in our galleries, so let's skip all the introductions this time and proceed to the pictures...

Bu showed photos of a few Warmachine models and one more for Infinity. Namely: a Menoth Monolith Bearer, a group of Menoth Zealots, and the one miniature from Infinity range is Akalis - a Sikh Commando.

Demi_morgana added pictures of the first miniatures from his Forces of Evil project. Both are somehow related to Nurgle, because they are: a Goblin Nurgle Follower and the first Plaguebearer.

Irkuck added another Space Marine to his gallery. This time it's a Space Marines Chaplain painted in a pretty uncommon way. What way? Check the photo to see icon_smile

Rentall managed to finish his Chaos Space Marines Lord - very bright miniature with shiny NMM. Be sure to check it out!

Let's finish with Przemosz., who uploaded a picture of his latest model - a Harlequin Troupe Leader from the Eldar range of Warhammer 40.000 miniatures, and re-posted his Emperor of Darkness - his own sinister version of the Emperor's Champion model, this time with new and more accurate photos.

We hope you found something interesting in this update icon_smile

 The Largest Update?

New Miniatures

It was a terribly busy weekend for me, as I had to take and upload many pictures of our latest works. It was a lot of job, but I managed to do it - so now you can see the pictures in all their glory icon_smile

So what do we have here? Let's start with our trusty cyber-zombie Demi_morgana, who managed to finish Quovadius. If the name doesn't say much to you, just check the picture. Great atmosphere and really interesting concept!

And if you want to see more dirty and smelly stuff, there's a Death Guard Rhino painted by Mahon and Ana. Very dirty, heavily weathered, and covered with slime. Looks as if it was pulled out of swamp, which covers bases of miniatures in the army for which the Rhino was painted. If you remember Ana's Great Unclean One, you already know which army it is...

Then we have Eliash, who posted two new works to his gallery, and both of them are very different. One of them is a dark and sinister Chaos Space Marines Lord, while the other is a bright and shiny Knight of Dol Amroth with a great little freehand. I hope everyone can find someting to suit their taste there.

Przemosz. posted something older, which was still missing from his gallery though. It's a Demon Prince of Chaos, so if you like big winged creatures, this one may be for you icon_wink

But the record of this update was set by Irkuck! Not only he posted two new units of tabletop quality Imperial Guard and a few RPG characters, but he also added Screamers of Tzeentch, Firewyrms of Tzeentch, and a Lord of Tzeentch on a disc to his Warhammer gallery. If you think that's all, you are still wrong though! Anybody who likes Irkuck's works mustn't miss his Eldar Autarch! It's a really nice miniature with which I would like to close this longish update...

Enjoy your visit to our galleries! icon_biggrin

Przemosz. and Demi_morgana Updated Their Galleries

New Miniatures

This weekend was a good one for anybody who was interested in some new paintjobs from Przemosz. He uploaded pictures of his latest works: Dereck Shezzard and Faust Orbatos from the Anime Tactics range. But there are also some photos of his older painted miniatures added to his gallery: Shredders, Forsaken Solo, and Jotun.

Demi_morgana finished painting some new miniatures and uploaded a picture of his Wreck Marker to the Warmachine gallery, but if you are patient enough to wait a bit more, you will see something even more interesting. So stay with us to see what he created!

 Two Long-Suffering Projects Finished!

New Miniatures

Another week is gone, so I'd like to let you know about new pictures in our galleries. So...

Marcelle finished his big project, something he was working on for the last few months. Life didn't make finishing it easier for him, but at last you can see it finished: I have the pleasure to present you Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders Space Marines. He's there for your viewing pleasure!

And this conversion is not the only thing we've got for you. It's been almost a year since Ana started painting the miniature, which was finished just now. The beginning was pretty unfortunate, because she was testing Citadel Foundation Paints on in, and the results were less than acceptable. So she had to repair and rework most of the paintjob. This took quite some time, but now it's finished. Here it goes: Paladin of Justice from Ilyad Miniatures. The miniature is not produced any more, and this painted version will be available for purchase in some time. But for now the pictures have to do... icon_biggrin

New Painter, New Miniatures, New Charity Auction...

New Miniatures

It's high time we posted some news about updates to our galleries, isn't it? icon_biggrin

Let's start with the most obvious addition: a new member of Box of Brushes! MFC joined the crew and posted a few miniatures to his gallery. You will see Jotun from Hasslefree Miniatures, Necron Lord for Warhammer 40K, and some other miniatures there. Check them out, they're worth a look!

There's also a new picture of Kacpero's Golden Demon winning Cirdan, because we found the old one didn't do justice to this paintjob. Hopefully the new one is better...

And if you wish, you can take a look at Illusionrip's Arwen before he changes anything. He wants to change a few things, so you will see a new version in some time, but for now the current one has to do. icon_wink

You may also wish to know that Szary posted a picture of his latest paintjob: Wood Elf Lord.

And the last thing I'd like to tell you about is that we had to relist the charity auction for Ana's Garity Gals. Ebay cancelled our auction, so we decided to list it again so that Children in Need can get some money. Remember that every cent from this auction goes to charity, as a part of the Newbold Challenge, so maybe you can help if you have a few dollars to spend? Thanks in advance!

New Painted Miniatures From 5 Painters!

New Miniatures

Hi all,

Let me tell you about a few new miniatures in our galleries. To start with we have a new member of Box of Brushes: MartiusMarsGradivus, who posted pictures of his Daktari with display base, and Minotaur. Additionally you can see a fine Warrior Priest painted by Bu, if you just visit his gallery.

Szary posted a picture of a really nice unit of Glade Guards, and - you will surely be surprised - Benathai shows us three Custodian Jetbikes. You can see these models separately here, here, and here.

And to finish I have the long promised more detailed photos of Kacpero's Chosen Terminators. Now you can see each of them separately!

 Kacpero's Chosen! And Others?

New Miniatures

The last weekend allowed me to take a few pictures and... paint something! Yes, it's not an error. I said: paint. icon_biggrin

So not to keep you waiting any longer, here are the new miniatures in our galleries: Slawol painted Theoden, which was his first attempt in NMM. I think it's a good one, but if you want to check - just visit his gallery.

Kacpero updated his gallery with a grop picture of a squad of Chosen Terminators of Chaos. They are a scary bunch, and if you wait a bit more, you will see more detailed pictures of these miniatures. For now the group shot has to do.

Ana finished a miniature again - something she started before her illness but wasn't able to finish when she was sick. But now you can see the result: an Ultramarines Librarian in terminator armour.

And my own miniature is Hasslefree Miniatures' PC Sam Ford. It was nice to paint again after such a long break. With a little bit of luck I hope to have more time for painting in 2008! Or at least that's the plan...

New Miniatures

We're meeting again in the new year! We hope it will be a good year for all of us - full of new beautiful minis and much time for painting them. icon_smile And if it's possible - talking about the hobby in the forum. We'd love to meet you there again.

And to kick off with some good news, we would like to announce that Ana's mini-diorama won the Paint Garrity Competition, which was a part of the Newbold Challenge 2007. As the results are already official, we can show you the Garrity Gals. If you enjoy these miniatures - we're more than happy. icon_smile

So enough of this talking! Happy new year to you all, and now let's return to miniatures icon_biggrin

New Miniatures

Hi all!

The weekend is over now, and it's time for me to tell you about the news in our galleries. Maybe you've already seen them, but I think you won't mind a small summary of the updates icon_smile

So let's start with Zahor, who managed to finish his two Vostroyan tank commanders: first and second. Both of them are interesting conversions and Zahor managed to capture the Vostroyan atmosphere in these two tankers. Then we have Ana with her Black Templars terminators and Captain Draco. They will look nice on the tabletop icon_smile

And to finish this update we have something really different: Przemosz. painted a small fleet of New Swabian League starships for Full Thrust. There was nothing like this in our galleries so far! Enjoy icon_biggrin

 13 Paintjobs: Lucky or Not?

New Miniatures

Here we go with some new miniatures. All of them are fantasy minis, and they all were painted recently by the painters of Chest of Colors and Box of Brushes.

Przemosz. painted a Sorcerer from Gamezone Miniatures. Nameless added Gauntfield the scarecrow to his gallery. And DiaCon added 11 new minis (or one unit icon_wink ) to his Warhammer Fantasy gallery. They miniatures are three Bretonnian Grail Relique bearers and eight monks accompanying them. I noticed a change in DiaCon's style of painting. Check it out and judge if you like the new style more than the previous one or not...

New Miniatures

I am well again. So I feel I have to let you know what new stuff was added when I was sick.

Rentall painted a wizard of the Empire, but judging by his appearance he might easily work as a necromancer, don't you think? If you like this model it's currently available on eBay. Szary posted a picture of his Wood Elf Waywatcher Lord (tell me if it really is "tabletop quality"), and Benathai posted (drumroll!) six more Custodians!

Stay tuned for more stuff soon, because I know some more is coming! icon_biggrin

Pitt and others in our galleries!

New Miniatures

OK, I managed to upload all the photos I took during the last photo session, and even some more. And what is new?

Szary managed to finish painting this model of Pitt from Heartbreaker. Even though the model looks pretty oldschool, Szary's paintjob brought it into the same line with current sculpts! Be sure to check it out!

Galharen painted a High Elf Lord and created a big display base for this character. You can see the effects of his work in his gallery.

And to close this update, we have Ana's Summoner - don't let the title mislead you. It's a really nice barely dressed and pretty sexy lady sculpted by Tom Meier for Darksword Miniatures. We have a bit more photos of this girl here. Enjoy icon_biggrin

Yes, you must have known that it simply means we're going on with DiaCon's army-painting...
I finally managed to take photos of the remaining miniatures. There's a unit of Bretonnian Knights of the Realm, Dark Elf Cold One Knights with a Sorceress. But there's also a Skaven Assassin.

Don't think DiaCon is the only person with new stuff in his gallery! Ana posted a photo of a unit of Black Templars terminators and Przemosz. posted a picture of his latest painted miniature: Chaos Space Marines Lord. We hope you like them icon_smile

 Four new painted miniatures

New Miniatures

We've got a few new pictures of painted miniatures in our galleries. Don't you want to see what's new?

Illusionrip uploaded pictures of his winning entry from Bazyliszek 2007: Eldar Farseer, and a funny little Gretchin, both for Warhammer 40K. Kacpero painted a Librarian for Space Marines, and is selling this model. But the most surprising thing is that we've got something new from Demon Color! It's Lykai from Rackham. He's been painting this miniature for a long time, but now you can see if the effects are worth the efforts. ;)

Enjoy!

Chaos - twice, swamp - twice, old person - twice, thumbnail photo - twice :)

New Miniatures

I didn't manage to add all the new pictures of painted miniatures yesterday, so here they go today. We've got news from Ana, Demi_morgana, and Irkuck.

Ana managed to finish project which she started just before our wedding. For those of you who still don't know what it is, here's the picture of the Old Couple on a wedding cake. Yust two sure and simple minis from Hasslefree Miniatures. But there's something definitely not as cute as they: Ana's version of the Great Unclean One - a greater daemon of Nurgle from Forgeworld. Colorful but disgusting fat monster, sitting in a swamp. Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so check it out icon_wink

Let's return to Demi_morgana's works for a moment: I managed to upload the last from the few reposts of earlier miniatures with new photos. This thime it's Demi's Rusty Rhino pulled into a swamp by a Cthonian. What do you think about the weathering? Which wethering? You must be joking, right? icon_biggrin

And Irkuck managed to finish his long-time project of converting Archaon into a Chaos Battle Standard Bearer of Tzeentch. It's colorful, it's bright, it's fiery, and it's covered with freehands. You'll better see it instead of reading my description. Take a look, and I'll be back with some more pictures soon icon_biggrin

 Demi_morgana's Day!

New Miniatures

We met Demi_morgana several days ago and took a few of his works for a photo session. You've seen most of them before but you may care to see new photos of this good rusty stuff.
So let us go...

The first model is his Gorkamorka Ork Nob, with a lot of rusty equipment. Another thing you've seen (and before taking the photos I wasn't able to notice how nicely done it was) is a unit of Bane Thralls with Goreshade and Deathwalker. Good job, I tell you. You have to check it out! And the last thing is Demi_morgana's take on Rackham models - this time it's his first Wolfen Zombie. I've got something more to follow soon, but that's all for now.

 Still alive after Bazyliszek!

New Miniatures

During our trip to Bazyliszek I managed to take a few quick photos of a few miniatures by our Box of Brushes painters. Let's start with Elvers, the new guy in the team, whose Gretchin with flamer won gold in Youngbloods category at Bazyliszek. The second painter whose gallery was updated is Nameless. His gallery was updated with pictures of his latest paintjob - the eldar ranger in 54mm scale, and a few older works - including two old minis from his eldar army. Check them out! icon_smile

And to show that Chest of Colors painters are also working, Ana posted pictures of her Vanda - winner of silver in SciFi Single Model category, and Vanda's V-guard, who looks like young Tina Turner in my opinion icon_wink But you don't need to believe my opinion....

New Miniatures

Lack of news for quite some time might be caused by our preparations to Bazyliszek - a convention in Warsaw, held on October 13th and 14th. We are going to be there, and a few of our painters are preparing their works for the event.

But in the meantime I'd like to introduce Marcelle to you. He's a new sculptor who joined the ranks of Box of Brushes and you can see his works in his gallery. My favorite is the goblin on a giant squig, and what do you think about his works? icon_biggrin

 The Last Golden Demons?

New Miniatures

I think these are the last of our Golden Demon winning entries from this year's Polish edition of this competition. So what we've got here?

The first one is Kacpero's Cirdan which won him silver in the LOTR category. The mini is small... I don't know if I would have enough confidence to paint such a thing. Well, I'll have to try one day... And the second one is Illusionrip's Orc, also a winner of a silver trophy in Warhammer Single Model category. For your viewing pleasure - in our gallery icon_smile

I think that's all for this year's Golden Demon Poland, but this doesn't mean we won't paint anything new before the new year icon_wink Stay with us to see if I am right....

New Miniatures

Continuing with the thread of Golden Demon entries, we've got another winner for you to see. This time it's Illusionrip's Nurgle Daemon Prince for Warhammer 40K. This miniature won gold in Warhammer 40K Monster category during this year's Golden Demon in Poland. Check what Illusionrip converted before he painted this miniature.

And Ana uploaded a picture of another ogre on rhinox. This time it's just a level 3 quality, but you don't always get to paint only top-quality stuff, do you? icon_wink

 Two Golden Demon winners...

New Miniatures

Hi all,

So we're back from the Golden Demon and we had enough time to start taking photos of our entries. We've already got pictures of two of them: Demon Color's eldar Falcon grav-tank, covered with elaborate freehand patterns, and Ana's Ogre on Rhinox. Both of them won gold in their categories, so we believe they should be worth checking out! Of course it's only if you haven't already seen them icon_wink

And if that's still not enough for you, here's another picture of Ana's entry showing it from different angles, and a photo of Szary's 'tabletop quality' (sic!) Wood Elf Mage.

Off to Golden Demon we go....

New Miniatures

Here goes the last update before heading off to Golden Demon. Several new pics were uploaded to our galleries, so here they go for your viewing pleasure:

Ana posted a group shot of the whole unit of Drune Horned Raiders. If you've seen them separately, you can see them together now icon_smile

Demi_morgana posted a new picture of his Gorkamorka Ork, better than the previous photo. He also painted a Razide for Warzone, so you may wish to check it out in his gallery.

Irkuck has pictures of a squad of Deathwatch marines. They've got pre-heresy symbols on their shoulderpads, so we believe their owner must have some mysterious concept justifying this idea! Here are the pictures: one and another.

Przemosz. shows us his interepretation of Tiamat from AT-43 range. He surely created his own recognizable style and follows it on all his AT-43 miniatures! He also presents a display base he made for a Hordes warband, and several bases he made for a unit of Warhammer cavalry.

The latest addition to the Box of Brushes crew: Bu, posted a few new pictures to his gallery. It's a nice choice of Privateer Press and Rackham miniatures.

Micdlu surprised us all by updating his gallery! There is a new dwarf blunderbuss-wielder from Confrontation range with a pair of eyecatching goggles icon_smile

Well, that's all for now. We'll be back after the weekend - hopefully with some new pictures and a report from the first Polish Golden Demon! icon_biggrin

 Surprised by the numbers...

New Miniatures

Ok, here goes another update - this time quite a big one. We're seeing several bigger projects going on:

Ana presents the third Drune Horned Raider, so now you've seen all three. Wait for a "family photo" of the whole unit icon_biggrin

Benathai painted a Dreadnought for the Adeptus Custodes army. That's a pretty big addition to this eyecatching army - nice conversion by Scibor, and paintjob from Benathai!

Przemosz. wanted his gallery to include some of his older works - a unit of skinks and a skink shaman. I never liked lizardmen (and I don't really know why) but these little guys look pretty nice, I must admit.

Galharen added pictures of two miniatures from his own army: High Elf Mage and High Elf Hero. How many of us would like to have our armies (or even smaller warbands) painted to this quality.... I definitely would!

And while we're at armies, Szary shows us two of his own skaven characters. He claims these are not display quality miniatures, just his "tabletop quality". It seems they're the same kind of guys - he and Galharen! icon_wink

We'll be back with some more soon, so stay tuned!

New Miniatures

This weekend I posted two new miniatures to our galleries: Kacpero's excellent Space Marines Captain in terminator armour, and my own Templar of Justice. Kacpero's model is based on Captain Lysander, and is painted with nice effects of battle damage, while mine is just something I started months ago and simply wanted to finish at last. Not as impressive as the Space Marine, but it was nice to paint anything again after such a long break!

New Miniatures

Today I want to let you know about a few new paintjobs in our galleries. Let me start with Przemosz., who keeps posting new miniatures every now and then. This time he showed us his Sorcerer from Gamezone, and now he's working on something more interesting...

Demi_morgana took some more photographs of his latest Great Unclean One, and I cannot deny - this miniature looks much better this time. All the nuances of colors are easier to see on the new pictures. Check them out!

Demon Color posted a picture of a Harlequin Troupe Leader to his gallery. It's nice to see a new painted miniature from him again...

And Ana posted a picture of the first of three Drune Raiders for Confrontation. This Rackham miniature is the first from a whole unit, and will be followed by the others soon.  News for the new subscribers: Apothecary arrived!

New Miniatures

Hi all,
As we have several new subscribers to our newsletter, I feel obliged to post a roundup of the latest updates to our website.

First the galleries: Przemosz. reorganized his gallery and divided his works into several albums. He also uploaded photos of his latest painted miniatures: the Emperor of Darkness - his version of Emperor's Champion, and Bane Goliaths for Rackham's AT-43.

Benathai's gallery was updated with a picture of three new Custodians, and Adeptus Custodes Apothecary. Especially the apothecary is an interesting addition to the army!

Demi_morgana painted the Great Unclean One - greater daemon of Nurgle. If you want to see something dirty, rotting, and probably also smelly - check this miniature in Demi_morgana's gallery.

And in case you haven't seen two new paintjobs from Nameless - they're in his gallery.

As for other news - we have Przemosz.'s tutorial about the dipping technique posted to our forum, but unfortunately it's only in Polish now. We may post an English version in some time too, if only time permits...

Enjoy the visit!

Demi's Warmachine horde and Box of Brushes news...

New Miniatures

Hi all icon_smile

This time we're introducing a new Box of Brushes member: Rentall. His gallery contains only three miniatures, but let us wish him all the best for the start! But he's not the only one to post new stuff to our gelleries.

Nameless managed to finish an old project: gargantoid sculpted by Werner Klocke years ago. Nameless was lucky enough to paint this bit of history icon_smile

Przemosz.'s galelry was updated with a photo of his vampire battle standard bearer. The miniatures comes from Reaper Miniatures, but the banner was made by Przemosz. himself.

And last but not least: Demi_morgana posted some new stuff to his gallery. Int fact it's a massive update of the Warmachine gallery! You can check out the new bloat thrall and a nightwretch. But wait! there's also a harrower, Deneghra, and a juggernaut for you to see. Don't miss them icon_smile

Ana and Benathai return - in a great style!

New Miniatures

It seems to be a good day for these of you who waited for something new either from Ana or Benathai. icon_biggrin

After a long photo-session I can present you their latest works: Benathai's Dark Elf on a (slightly) oversized Cold One and Ana's Space Marine Librarian.

Benathai started this paintjob quite a few months ago and had to pause his works for a while. Anyway, this large conversion by Samuel took much work and time, but it's ready now! So if you want to see this Dark Elf Noble riding a dino (as we used to call the beast), you can do it!

In the meantime Ana was painting a Librarian for Iron Hands Space Marines. She was happy to have an opportunity of painting something dirty and weathered again, but the work went pretty slowly due to other stuff (*cough* preparations for her wedding *cough*) keeping her busy. But now the miniature is done! And we uploaded larger photos than usually, to show what took her so much time icon_wink

 Three painted miniatures by Przemosz.

New Miniatures

Well, another weekend passed and we're back with a few new painted miniatures. This time we're bringing you several new paintjobs from Przemosz. He painted a Warrior Priest from Empire (Warhammer Fantasy), Archaon on foot - the promotional model from Chaos range (WFB again), and Haldir from Lord of the Rings.  Kuczek's dwarf vs Demi's orc ;)

New Miniatures

I didn't expect I would be all that busy with all the preparations. But I managed to find enough time to let you know about two new miniatures in our galleries:

Demi_morgana returned to the roots: painting old miniatures. He painted the first miniature which drew him to the miniatures hobby: a savage orc shaman from Games Workshop. Check this old sculpt out and then visit Kuczek's gallery: She painted the slayer dwarf from Avatars of War. I haven't seen too many painted examples of this miniature, so you may be interested in this paintjob just like I was icon_smile

New Miniatures

During the last weekend Szary's gallery was updated with a photograph of his latest painted miniature: Grand Master Azrael with his helmet bearer. So if you like Space Marines, especially from the chapter of Dark Angels - don't miss this one!

And when you've seen the photo, you may wish to visit this auction. Szary is waiting for your offers, so why don't you just try? icon_biggrin

Galharen turns to the dark side...

New Miniatures

Keeping you updated about the new stuff in the galleries: the first addition, being now on auction is Galharen's Haldir. It seems he changed his style a bit and this miniature is painted a bit darker, with deeper shadows, which is a really good choice. If you like Lord of the Rings miniatures, check this miniature out!

Demi_morgana uploaded a few new picures to his gallery: Tanya - Queen of the Broken Coast, and Tim the Red Plague a.k.a. Karloth Valois. And in case you hadn't seen it yet, there's a new gallery with pictures of Slawol's works.

 Minis large and small

New Miniatures

Today we have much new stuff for you to see. OK, most of it is only tabletop quality, but the army as a whole will surely look more than decent! Check the Imperial Guard and Witch Hunters Army gallery in DiaCon's album to see what kept him busy for so long.

But we have also some higher quality stuff for your viewing pleasure: Black Templars Dreanought (yes, the ForgeWorld model) painted by Eliash, and Szary's latest painted miniature: Ludwig Schwarzhelm. And to finish this update we have something really big: Demi_morgana's scratchbuilt Cthonian. It's big and nasty, don't you think?

Ana's new project: surprising harem girl

New Miniatures

Just a short message this time, to let you know we have a new interesting thing in Ana's gallery: After a many months long break she returned to her old project and managed to finish it! Which allows me to proudly announce her latest miniature: the Harem Girl from Hasslefree Miniatures, which she called "In the Eggshell".

Because the project was a complex one - with many parts sculpted, scenery extensively modelled, and many freehand designs painted, we decided to split the photos into two pictures. So here they go: Harem Girl - "In the eggshell" - photo 1 and photo 2.

Enjoy!

Black Templars, Custodian, sinking Rhino, Bretonnians, and more...

New Miniatures

I have to announce many updates to our galleries after a longer break. That's what happens when I am too busy to post news.. icon_wink

Even if many painters seem to be busy with other things, a few of them actually posted quite a few new painted miniatures to our website. So let's start with the only girl in this day's news: Ana painted a Black Templars Marshall and a squad of Black Templars Terminators to accompany him. But after painting those and before I managed to post the news she managed to finish the Crossbowman Deserter from Rackham. Benathai wasn't very prolific this time and showed us only one Custodian Chaplain, but don't worry - there are still many Custodians for him to paint icon_biggrin Demi_morgana surprised me twice: One surprising miniature was a very bright and colorful Khador Juggernaut (is Demi_morgana experimenting with bright and saturated colors?) and the other was the Rhino vs Cthonian diorama. Pretty interesting, isn't it? icon_smile

The Chest of Colors crew weren't the only painters who managedto update their galleries. Box of Brushes' painters also shared some new painted miniatures with us! For example Dead painted two mounted characters: a Bretonnian Pegasus Rider with Standard and a Bretonnian Battle Standard Bearer. Espoo, the new guy in BofB, painted a unit of Skinks, while Przemo experimented with lighting effects on this miniature: an
Imperial Guard missile launcher team. Check it out to see if he did it well.

Enough talking for now, as I need to give you time for browsing the galleries icon_biggrin

Demi_morgana's gallery is full of interesting paintjobs on Privateer Press miniatures - not only Cryx (which you surely expected), but if you want to find out, let us tell you a bit more....

So we've go there a couple of Rippers, a few Bane thralls, Reclaimer, Redeemer, Harrower Helljack, and a really disgusting Bloat thrall. If you want to see some new painted miniatures for Warmachine, check these links out! icon_biggrin

 Space Marines dominate the news!

New Miniatures

This time we can be proud of the Box of Brushes crew. They updated their galleries with so many newly painted miniatures, that they dominated today's news icon_biggrin
So let's go into a bit more detail:

Galharen updated his gallery with a nice and bright Ordo Malleus Inquisitor. Przemo posted a huge picture of a Space Marine heavily inspired by Demon Color's works. He confirms that Demon Color's paintjobs were his source of inspiration and posts such big pictures to make it easier for people to suggest him what improvements can he still make. If you want to do it - just visit our forum. On the opposite, Romek posted a smaller picture of his Alarielle the Everqueen of Avelorn, also looking as inspired by Demon Color's version.

But nobody can beat RIP's number of new minis icon_smile This guy uploaded pictures of his Rhino, which won silver in 40K Large Model category at Bazyliszek 2006, but also other minis from the same Black Templars army: Land Raider Crusader, Predator, Dreadnought, Land Speeder, Emperor's Champion, and even a regular Space Marine with plasma cannon.

But not only the Box of Brushes' gallery was updated - Eliash updated this gallery of painted miniatures with a picture of his Black Templars Sword Brethren. If you want to see them on individual pictures - just check them in his gallery.

 It's raining new miniatures ;)

New Miniatures

I had a lot of work to do this weekend. So many pictures to take... But who cares?

At least now you have some new photos of painted miniatures to see: Let's kick off with Demon Color's Alarielle the Everqueen of Avelorn, which must be the most natural-colored miniature this guy painted icon_wink . Then we have Illusionrip's
Captain Sicarius of Space Marines. Szary returned with two funny miniatures for BloodBowl: a Halfling Cheerleader, and a Treeman. Check these out and you'll have a good laugh icon_biggrin

Then we have a lot of news in the Box of Brushes galleries: There's a Vicar of Dirz by Micdlu, another version of the Orlock Gang Leader by Zahor, and a bunch of miniatures painted by Zagi: Ordo Malleus Inquisitor, Orc Battle Standard Bearer, Cynwal McCormac, Amergim Rus Folaigh, and a Servitor: Tanker. Then, to finish the update we have three Treekins by Kacpero. Wow, it was much....

But wait, it's not all! I almost forgot I have a picture of my new zombie-hunting kid Peter. Even though it was painted to be just a gaming mini, I thought it's cute enough to share with you icon_smile

You may be surprised, but we have another update with new painted miniatures in our galleries icon_smile

Ana painted Heidi the female dwarf warrior, which is a small miniature from Hasslefree Miniatures. Her next paintjob will be something larger icon_wink But we also have something new in the Box of Brushes gallery: Zagi joined us and posted a few pictures to his gallery.  Several comebacks :)

New Miniatures

This was a good weekend for all these who would like to see some new painted miniatures in our galleries. Quite a few painters posted new minis to their galleries:

So let's start with the biggest surprise: Demon Color returned, and he did it with two new works: Bretonnian King and Captain Sicarius. Benathai, who's been absent here for quite a long time, now returned with four new Custodians. Illusionrip continued with another of Latorre's models: Yarry.  And who says size doesn't matter??

New Miniatures

Not too many new miniatures can br shown after this weekend, but the size of one of them can make up for the numbers icon_wink

So I am introducing you Mr. Ghorgor-Bey, painted by Ana. It took really much time to paint this 18cm tall guy, but we believe it was all worth the effect. Now you can judge by yourselves! And if you want to follow the blog-style tutorial about painting this guy - you have it here. We also have a Polish version here.

And if you prefer more steampunk themed miniatures, you can check these Deathrippers from Demi_morgana. Enjoy icon_biggrin

5 new minis after the break... and more!

We had no updates for a few days, but now we're catching up with what's new here:

First of all Demi_morgana repainted quite a bunch of his Warmachine miniatures, so if you want to see the new versions of his Deathjack, Goreshade, and Scarlock Thrall - just visit his gallery.

Irkuck has a new girl... in his gallery icon_wink This time its Alvhaera from Reaper miniatures, converted and painted as a drow.

The guys from Box of Brushes also added some new interesting stuff to their galleries: Dead added a picture of his Bretonnian battle standard bearer, and the same miniature on an alternative base. And Przemosz. uploaded a picture of Lilith - check them out to see what the guys have been doing. icon_biggrin

 Black Templars news!

New Miniatures

This morning, when I saw Szary's Emperor's Champion I didn't know it was just the beginning of a larger update. And I didn't know the update was all about Black Templars miniatures, painted by Szary and Ana.

As it was already mentioned, Szary added an Emperor's Champion, which was his exercise at painting with metallic paints and a tribute to Jakob Nielsen. Ana added Chaplain Grimaldus and his retinue. Two of the cenobite servitors can be seen here and here.

Thousand Sons - and just one girl icon_wink

It seems that not much has been painted during the weekend, but we still have a few new minis to show you.

El_kornikus who hasn't updated his gallery for quite a long time now shows us his current project: a Thousand Sons army for Warhammer 40K. Every miniature is converted and decorated with a small freehand - that's why the project is progressing so slowly. But if you want to see effects, they are in his gallery.

The other thing we can show is
Khyli the female grymn painted by Mahon. Following the current trend of desaturating colors in war movies, the miniature is pretty limited in colors, but at least check how interesting sculpt it is icon_smile

New Miniatures
After the weekend we're presenting a few more new painted miniatures:

Ana painted two versions of Sasia Samaris - the Desert Rose - in her Second Incarnation. You can find them in her Rackham gallery.

Szary painted Legolas, and Demi_morgana built a machine wraith for his Cryx force, which he uses in games of Warmachine. If you want to compare his version with the original sculpt, here's the original.

If you think we're not going to show you any new minis before the new week, you are wrong. So here they go - a few new minis:

If youhad checked the Box of Brushes galleries, you should have noticed a new gallery there - with a few miniatures painted by RIP.

Let me take the opportunity of letting you know about my own miniature before talking about any others icon_wink I managed to finish a miniature I started over a year ago - a Cave Ogre or Troll - as I prefer to call him, from Fenryll. Don't you find this miniature funny? I did, and if you want to read a few words of comments about it - go here.

Ana painted quite a few Rackham miniatures, but only one photo was added to her gallery - this Earth Elemental. And Illusionrip's gallery was updated with a new picture of his Dwarf Daemon Slayer. More will come soon! icon_biggrin

 After Poznan Game Arena 2006...

New Miniatures
This weekend some of us visited Poznan Game Arena - a Polish gaming fair in Poznan. After having some good time there and winning some prizes (2 prizes went to Illusionrip, 1 to DiaCon, and 1 to Kacpero) in a painting competition, we're returning with some new paintjobs:

Benathai took a break from painting rank-and-file Custodians and painted an Adeptus Custodes Hero for them. You will notice that this mini will stand out from the troopers in his army icon_smile

Ana added a Chthonian Larva, as well as some lower quality miniatures, to her Rackham gallery.

Demi_morgana converted and painted a Scaly for his gang of Scavvies. This close combat monster based on a Troll from Hasslefree Miniatures looks really interesting icon_biggrin

Kuczek painted a Dwarf Hero from Scibor Monstrous Miniatures.

And if you are interested in some photos from Poznan Game Arena - expect a photoreport soon icon_smile

New Miniatures
And yet again we're presenting a surprising number of new painted (but not only painted!) miniatures in our galleries icon_smile

Irkuck returned with the remaining miniatures from his Chaos Space Marines army, which - as you may remember - was the best army at Grand Tournament Eastern Europe. Check these minis - they were painted in a striking color scheme and most of them were converted. He must have spent really much time to achieve this effect...

Mahon's gallery (yes, it's mine) was updated with Tiriel the female paladin from Hasslefree Miniatures. The purpose of painting this miniature was to return to painting but also to create a calm and serene scene... which hopefully turned out pretty nice icon_wink

Samuel hits with something really big! It's Mortarion, the primarch of Death Guard. The sculpt was based on a picture which you will see next to the miniature. Don't be mislead by the size of the photos - the miniature is really big, and to show it we included another model for size comparison. What do you think about it now? icon_biggrin

If you like Space Marines you should see DiaCon's chaplain, if you haven't already seen it. DiaCon also uploaded a few pics of several units from his army of Dwarfs.

And the last thing coming to my mind now are two new miniatures by our painters from the Box of Brushes: Kuczek's Space Marines chaplain and Dead's Bretonnian pegasus rider. Both are nice, so check them out icon_smile

Enjoy!

New painted miniatures from six painters!

New Miniatures
And after a few days of silence we're coming back with another update. This time we have about 20 painted miniatures for your viewing pleasure icon_smile

Illusionrip updated his gallery with a better bicture of Beastface the Centigor. Now you can see more details of this conversion and interesting effects like lava. :)

As we're talking of lava, Ana based her Yh-Sabahal on a lava base, too. Initially it was supposed to be a lower quality work, but she liked the mini so much that she spent some more time painting it. She also posted a picture of four Goblin Gas-Blowers, but they are mere level 2 miniatures, so don't expect too much of them.

Benathai painted four more Custodians, and you should expect even more from him icon_biggrin

Demi_morgana added quite a few new pictures to his Warmachine gallery. They are parts of his new diorama. You can see his: Scrap Thrall, Rogue Alchemist, Necrotech, yet another Scrap Thrall with effect of glowing, and a Reaper Helljack for his Cryx force. Much, isn't it? icon_wink

Szary presents us a picture of his Lothern Sea-Guard High Elf Hero, so that you can see the freehand painting he did on the horse's caparison and the shield.

And last but not least two new works in the Box of Brushes galleries: Kuczek's Games Day Slayer and Nameless' Naomi the Vampiress. Check them out and have a nice day! icon_biggrin

You have seen them already, of this I am nearly sure, but if you care to check the new pictures you will see Illusionrip's Pretor and Ana's Grey Knights Dreadnought in quite better quality.

And if you haven't seen Demi_morgana's Chaos Champion of Nurgle and Ogre-Zombie-Chaos-Nurgle Lord, don't miss them! If the ogre-zombie-something-etc. isn't his best work so far, I must be blind. New Miniatures
OK, it had to happen, all these pictures had to be posted one day. The result is one of the biggest updates we've ever had here.... I don't even dare count all the pictures we uploaded this time...

Let us start with the new albums in the Box of Brushes gallery: Zahor's gallery - full of conversions of Warhammer 40.000 miniatures, and Muzyk's gallery - with only one picture now, but hopefully going to be expanded in future icon_smile

And now our Chest of Colors painters: Demon Color painted a Wood Elf Standard Bearer on a really unusual mount. Is it a baby treeman or something else? Well, we don't really know, but its eyes radiate with magic icon_wink

Illusionrip uploaded his Pretor painted in a nearly monochrome way, which won him an award at Bazyliszek.

Szary shows us a Paladin, a Reaper miniature, which is a pretty uncommon thing for Szary...

Irkuck's gallery was updated with pictures of his Chaos Space Marines army. Some of you may have seen it at Grand Tournaments, but some of you can only see it in his gallery, so check it out. icon_smile

And last but not least... Ana. You may have forgotten about her, we know. But it doesn't mean she quit painting. In fact she was so busy that she didn't even had time to share any new photos with you. So if you would like to see some painted Rackham miniatures, here we go with the Confrontation stuff! Starting with the older works, we have a few goblins with balls and chains, lower quality jobs, but it's something that painters also have to do sometimes. icon_wink Two devourers being examples of a few approaches to NMM. Unfortunately these were supposed to be lower quality jobs as well, so NMM was counterbalanced by simple paintjobs on other parts of the miniatures. Then we have two giant barbarians: one with sword and one with halberd. They both present different approaches to painting skin. Two funny goblins with a lot of personality: Shigobi and BecBunzen (I prefer Shigobi with his diabolic grin icon_wink ).

And now something for male part of our audience: two barely dressed ladies. Morgwen the Bloody - a lanyfh character, and Gwenlaen the Ever-Proud for these who prefer fiannas...

If you think it's all, you are wrong icon_razz
A lot of Ana's work went into the army of Orcs of Bran-Ō-Kor. The album with photos of this army was updated with some characters for this army: Törk the Animal, Jackal Master of Rites, and Vorak the Infallible. And stay tuned for more icon_biggrin

Lots and lots of new miniatures!

New Miniatures
Another weekend is coming and after several days long absence I am returning to you with some new miniatures in our galleries.

First of all the thing which surprised me the most, as it's a pretty unusual thing: Demi_morgana created a model of Land Raider, and it wouldn't be all this unusual if it wasn't... made of paper. Yes, it's not a mistake. You can see it in his gallery. icon_smile

Samuel added a few nice minis to his gallery: a dwarf drummer, a Space Wolves wolf lord, and an ogre - painted in a really surprising way. If you hadn't noticed yet, I'll mention that the wolf lord was sculpted by Samuel almost from scratch.

And the last entry is another of Benathai's harlequins. If you haven't seen this one, check it out, it's really worth it! icon_smile

And let's not forget Demon Color's scratchbuilt Baron for Warhammer 40K. Some say he's Baron Harkonnen, some disagree, but they all can see how fat he is icon_smile

And I've just recalled that DiaCon updated his gallery with several new pictures: Space Marine, dwarf lord, Chaos lord of Nurgle, and a Chaos sorcerer of Nurgle... Wow, it was quite a bunch of new minis icon_biggrin

Oops, I nearly forgot about Illusionrip's "Beastface" the centigor... Fortunately I checked the news before posting...

Last week's updates in our galleries

New Miniatures
What do we have here? The last week (or a bit more) brought us many cool minis. So let's try to list them here:

First of all - Ana was struggling with another batch of Confrontation miniatures from Rackham, and even though she painted more of them, she managed to add only one photo to her gallery, and so there it goes - the
