what colour would you recommend shading death wing terminators with?
im pretty new but i want to take my time with them and well aim to get them above table top quality

Dark brown would suit well. Did you try GW washes? Try something-mud and griphone spehia for comparison.

my other question would be to about the shading, ive read through all the articles here on the forum explaining glazing, washing and inking but would it look better to shade it by glazing or mixing bleached bone with a darker shade?

That a matter of time, how much time do you want to spend with each mini, a wash takes less time then a good shade by mixing or by glazing.
Both are a good technics and can be all used together.
