Ok, here is what I have done so far. I will post in chronological order. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I can take new ones if needed.

Here is the first model I did a set of scarabs:

In order to comment your minis first we need to work more on the pictures!
1) use tripod or make a stand (books are great :) )
2) timer in your camera - pictures won't be blurry
3) make photos on a coherent background, just like you did on the last photos
4) don't use flash in your camera - take more lamps and place them around the mini
Does you camera have white balance setting?

currently I am using my camera phone. For the latest pictures I have turned off the flash, and while there is a timer on it I have no place to put the camera while it counts down. I'll double check but I don't believe it has a white balance setting.

With the last pics I made a poor man's (I'm pretty poor) photo booth where I took a cardboard box, hung 2 white pillowcases inside of it, put 2 flashlights in at 2 different angles (not directly on the model) and then took my pictures with no flash. I plan on making a better booth on payday at the end of the month.

Should I put books under the pillowcases? My booth is on the dining room table right now and is about waist high, but in order to get any detail with my stupid camera phone I have to get far closer than recommended.
