dwarf basing

Post by Corvus »

Looking for a nice, dwarven themed base for the figure below (Bederken limited edition) I'm about to start, but I have no inspiration at all. Can anyone help me?

I was thinking something along the lines of a steel-enforced wooden platform instead of the usual dwarven-stone-hall flooring.

I'd make him a grave robber. A tombstone, dug up coffin, a shovel, some bones to go with that skull he's carrying.

Or a treasure hunter in an old temple.
Or you can simply put him on a pile of skulls, or a pile of gold coins and gems.
He doesn't look like warrior, so you must decide what kind of rouge he is.

You can also change the mood completely and make him an actor with "to be or not to be" skull in his hands.

Wow, thanks everyone! It really helped me to take a completely different look at this miniature.

I like the idea about a treasure hunter... I might paint the skull in gold to make it a treasure...

Corvus, did you buy this fig from Bederkens' online shop? If yes, how much was the shipping cost?

Hamlet and Indiana Jones came to my mind immediately. Don't know why Indy did... So maybe the tresure hunter idea is subconsciously transmitted by the author? ;)
I wouldn't make him an archaeologist though ;)

He's definitively more like a burglar, isn't he?
