I really like what you did on the skin here. Much better than any other model in the warband. The highlights define the sculpt very well.
Good job!

Maybe try adding some blue (a little bit) or purple to deepest shadows? It should cool them down a bit which would make shadows look more natural.

Previous warriors were painted in 2-3 batches. New hired swords get more attention, because of smaller number of them and usually more details then skeletons. I`ll try all your advices!
Mentioning hired swords - another has joined my band - Nomad scout :-)

Update time!
First one is a Nomad Scout. Picture came very dark so I had to light it up in GIMP. Only the cloak is finished.

Here the photo wasn`t manipulated :-) I`ve given all the golden parts a base coat of brown+gold. Blue elements are finished. What I don`t know is, how to paint the lion`s head on top of the stick. Any ideas?

I have to hurry up with painting those hired swords. I hope there will be at least one game I`ll be able to fight with them :bonk:

Every story has its beginning and its end  I think my Tale of Gamers ends here...
The campaign is almost at it`s end and my warband is at it`s maximum size. Wyrdstones that I find are barely enough for units replacement and hired swords` upkeep. I wanted to add a djinn as dramatis personae, but 80 golden crowns are to much to find.

I know I have presented a witch, but I have less then a month to finish my second grade thesis :-( That is why I am using Heinrich Kemmler as a replacement and I think it makes really good for a male witch ;-)

and here is a photo how did it all begin:

Here are some details of finished hired swords. At certain point I had to start painting faster and accept lower quality in order to be able to use them at least once :-) I am happy with sorcerer`s skin, lion`s fur and Nomad`s robes.

It was a really great fun painting them and I am having very big pleasure with playing them.
They`ve got their names, skills, experience and now their own ... history! They are truly heroic fighters form distant Khemri and bring glory in the name of Nagash  They have deserved adding their names on the bases 8)

Thanks everyone who commented my progress in this topic here. You guys really have kept me motivated to keep some quality standard. I hope you had a bit of fun watching my tale.
