Well as a start of 2011 (a little late ) I wanted to add the 3rd and final part of my chaos marines being the deathguard section of my force. So here is the test model which i'm currently working on. The reason i also decided on death guard was because i wanted more experience with green stuff and this is one of those forces where making a mistake doesn't seem so noticeable or extreme. Well anyway when i get more of the army put together i'll post it up on here.
I plan to get:
1 demon prince,
1 chaos lord,
5 terminators,
1 dreadnought,
2 squads of plague marines,
1 predator,
1 vindicator.
Not the biggest force but none of mine usually are as i wanted to just practice different things. This is also the army i practice doing some weathering on as most of you know i have a tendancy of painting bright and clean models so this would be to make things a little dirtier. I'm using Artur and Cyril's work as a helpful reference but at the moment I need more practice.
Anyway wip of my test model:

Blending looks good! Nice and smooth.
Maybe you should change your lights? I have these lights which cast of a yellow shine too. It's almost impossible to take accurate pictures with those lights!

Maybe it is the white balance? Can you change it in your camera?

Re: Arctica's Death Guard
I tried looking for daylight bulbs etc here in the middle east but with no luck at all. My manager who has been out here for years says that he's never been able to find any either. So unfortunately i'm stuck with rubbish yellow lights.
As for the camera, Maru has pointed out in my wip thread that my camera is just very very poor especially for taking photos. There are very limited functions on the thing. Next time i go back to the UK my little brother has given me his decent camera so i hope i can play around more with settings such as white balance and macros etc to get decent pics.
Well progress is going well tonight, finished for the most part the backpack and one of his arms. I think once i've done the model all shiny and clean i'll add some weathering and rust around certain areas slowly and see how i feel. ^^

Re: Arctica's Death Guard
Well finished the first guy to a reasonable table top standard, i'm happy with what i've done but i think i can do better with both the weathering, blending etc. but i've got my colour recipes down to what i want. Now to put more models together !
