Problem with white paint (vallejo)

Post by Little Jimbo »

Hello I am having some problems with my white paint, and i wanna hear if anyone know why I have this problem or if it is a general problem.

first the paint i paint with vallejo game colors. the problem is when i dilute my Dead white(72001) with water it is almost like the pigment precipitates, I can clearly see small fragments of pigments on my brush and what ever surface I paint on. some of the more saturate colors, seems to have the same problem but to a lesser extent.

if anyone know of this problem or of a solution pleas let me know.

Regards
Daniel

Actually some model colours have the same issues. Mostly with the heavy pigmented light colour paints. Colours like Ivory, and various (off) whites.
Separation of pigments and the adhesive is the reason why I use less and less vallejo paints and more P3. You can offset this separation a little but by using an acrylic medium or matte medium.
