Bah, Terrorism is such a cowardly act. My best wishes go out to the victems and their families. These acts make me so sad and angry.

I hate it people take away someone's innocent's life for a stupid reason as having a different religion, different thoughts and opinions, or just over a stupid fight.
What gives them the right to judge and take away someone's life?? Think about all the families left with questions, pain and anger...

I'm not going to say anything more because this is a quite delicate matter. Just that my sympathy and best wishes go to the victims.

Not to support whats been done, I have to say this was bound to happen sooner or later. Assuming this attack is due to an extreme Islamic group, the US and the UK (really more US than UK) have been sticking thier noses in Middle Eastern affairs that they have no concept of for years. The way folks think and act in the Middle East is so radically different from what we as Westerners know and understand, this kind of conflict is bound to happen. I won't pretend to understand it myself, I can only acknowledge my lack of understanding.

None of which lessens the tragedy that has happened. My thoughts are with Londoners today. But I can't help but feel like our governments (speaking specifically of the US and UK governments) have brought this upon us.

I'll not speak on it anymore myself. I know better than to attempt to discuss politics. Most folks are pretty uncompromising, and one can do little more than state ones personal opinions before we start going around in circles.

I agree with the posts above. Let's leave the ideology and politics and concentrate on the victims.

I just cannot imagine the feeling that if you know someone in those areas and that you cannot get in touch with them...

Or that someone dear to you hasn't arrived home yet... And possibly never will...

I just get this sick feeling in my stomach now...

I can. It happened to me. I finally reached a dear friend this morning. He commutes into London for work at times, and he takes the train into Kings Cross station when he does. And he's normally there around the time that the bombs were going off. And I didn't get a response to email... I didn't eat a lot yesterday.

I was in the same boat LadyEyes. A really good friend that I've known for just over 10 years now is going to school over there, thank god I heard from her this morning! Apparently she made it to work just before the attacks took place. :whew:

What is the political climate in the UK now? Any talks about pulling out of the 'War on Terrorism" such as Spain did, or has resolve strengthened? (not trying to turn this into a political topic, just haven't heard anything along either lines and am curious)
