I spotted this picture in the latest Black Gobbo (

maybe you have to watch it at 1mt. of distance and then it will appear smooth

yeah, my idea exactly

It looks as if all colours are straight out of the bottle. Not thinned with water, no mixing with other colours. (only with white or bone for the highlights on the crest)
You can see he spend extra time on it, since it's a character and all...

You can get close-up photos of several parts of the figure, and the one Corvus put here is one of the photos available. And its at the size he put it here. The whole figure looks like this when you see the close-ups.
They must have been pretty desperate for a figure to put in this issue....

. That's strange, normally they have quite a good level at GW...
