On the rope I would add some depth. A wash of thinned fleshwash or chestnut would do the trick I think. The depth on his clothing is good, highlight the egdes a bit to make it more stricking. Maybe also do a checker pattern to really make him stand out?

hi skrit
i have done a chesnut wash on the rope, then highlighted it with bone. i have also highlighted the tankards too, but i am not sure what you mean by checker pattern, where would you paint that?

A checker pattern can be used to give a miniature more detail. It is often used on Ork vehicles such as this one done by my brother:

But also on single miniatures such as this one by Steve Buddle:

I think it would look really nice on the underside of his hood. (if that's what it is?)

I totally agree: some wash on the rope is a must;
imo the rope look too bright compared to he brown uniform... but it's of course just the case of my taste

The rope does looks a bit flat. Maybe you could go over it again with a very thin brown paint? So that it just colours the recesses.
The clothing looks good, althoughI think it would benefit from some additional highlights.
Keep up the good work!

I agree with the previos posts, the rope looks a bit flat.
I see you left the eye out? Is that on purpose?
I normally do it before the face, because if I accidentally paint on the highlighted and ready face when painting the eyes, I usually throw the figure into the farthest corner in anger

hi
i usually leave the eyes until i am ready to paint them, as i am not very good at them. it takes me all my time to paint the black dot, let alone paint an even smaller dot of white inside that.
