This project started out as an individual basing theme for Wyrd Miniature's Bayou Gremlins, as shown below:

I've since abandoned the base idea (see above, the unfinished base) in lieu of a small diorama set in the same kind of theme as the base idea. Here are a few pics of the "in progress" stages.

Here are some more progress pictures, one of the gremlins painted and planted on the dio, plus the water has been poured.

cool :)
some remarks from me, if you don't mind.
- tall grass (one made from brush bristles) - I'd place it in river only, directly by river bank. Also, you could use this article for cattails: https://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/678
- I don't really like these rocks. Don't look realistic to me. I think it's because of their shape.
- trunk by goblin (gremlin, sorry) is cut, while trunk remains in ground look like old rotten tree.

I think the "trunk" is a broken bucket. I agree, the rocks really are not doing it for me specially how every thing else is built. Its the shape and how flat they are for me. I alos think the larger plants could use some more shadow or highlights. I do like the texture on the ground and smaller plants.

Here's another update. Below is a picture of the final dimensions. It fits nicely on the 1:18 scale car display case. I went ahead and added static grass all around the edges...which now pretty much shows up in every picture until I decide to clean it off. But anyway, it gives you an idea of how big (or rather small) the entire piece is.

This pic shows that I have added another gremlin to the base.

A closer look.

This one shows the colors a bit more clearly, as well as the static grass that's everywhere on the dio now.

One more close up of the walkways.

I'll be updating with more pics soon.

I like the whole piece but somehow I'm not convinced about the plants
they look a bit "plastic" imo - maybe some more color variation could help? :)

I like it a lot as a whole. I could find a few things which could be done better (the bridge, the plants, etc.) but the big picture is more than satisfactory.

Does it stay in your own collection?

I wasn't entirely convinced by this in the first few pictures, but it's come together quite nicely as a good bit of fun. I like how you've broken up the massive slab of black on the front of the base with those rocks (or perhaps they're bracket funghi, as I first thought)
