Inks - help with purchase

I can't recall this kind of problem, but sometimes we use a simple trick of applying a thin layer of matt varnish over what was already painted before moving on to the next steps or layers. usually works well and protects what was done, helps with problems like paint being 'dissolved' by the next layers, etc. I think it should help.
If you have an airbrush or a fine spray - they should be the easiest ways to apply a thin layer of varnish. Brushing it on might be too brutal and thick.

I use the liquitex inks. I just have to give them a full day dry time to prevent the reactivating effect but I am starting to do more weathering with oil paints so getting use to it.

Im starting to use Andreas Inks and they are really good glossy but if you dilute them they will have a almost matt finish love them

inks are often very glossy. nothing wrong with these andreas.

I just purchased Liquitex Matte Varnish (p/n 5208). This will work as a varnish to prevent ink reactivation???????
It is acrylic and says do not mix with water.

I bought a simply LAMY Safari fountain pen a little while ago and some black noodler's ink to go with it and sort of started playing around with painting with it. I LOVE it! I paint with the black like it's water color and get really cool shading and I can't get enough of it.

I also have been trying to figure out a way to use color, and it recently occurred to me ... colored inks!

But here's my problem. I've been doing a little research and I see that there are colored drawing inks out there, and there are colored fountain pen inks out there. I know that I can't put drawing ink in a fountain pen, but can I paint with fountain pen ink? If I buy waterproof ink, will that make it so that I can't paint with it like a water color?
