Crazy Bone Violin Chick WIP

Post by ScottRadom »

I was using this mini in the "painting faces" thread and thought I'd move it into the general WIP area. Still looking for face input, but all stuff I'd like to hear about. I'd call the metals and from her boobs up done, but I'll go back and do a little fixing on the smoothness in some areas of the metal (And maybe a little darker in some spots too) and think I may have to do more work on the flesh in general. Please fire away!

I forgot to mention that I tried to act on the advice given in the painting face section, Do I need to do more on the face? Might go for eye shadow towards the end of the mini too.

For me I'd go with a bit of eye shadow and go darker in the joints between the metal bits on the leg but the bafe is much better, well done for such an ugly sculpt :D
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

OK, now I am sure that it's the sculpt that is to blame...
cheeks don't look like this.

one option is to correct it resculpting, the other option is to do it with painting. I recall Banshee wrote something about it when he painted Arwen and wanted to make her look more like Liv Tyler.
generally I wouldn't use such rapid transition on the cheek. I would try to cheat that it's much more subtle and feminine. give me a sec to prepare a picture

EDIT:

the third option is to leave it as it is...

If you want a 3rd option, you might try to put a very small drop of super glue in the bad sculpt area to smooth things and then repaint that part, i had to do this once and since the glue always stays smooth, after painting it will not show
