Hmm okay, good advice. So should i use the whole pallette, from pure white to pure black?
I think i have to try to overdo the contrast on a practice piece (an arm or so).
Then i could figure it out.
Will get on this tomorrow. painting a NMM steel part with (i hope) extreme contrast.
Big thx for your help.

Re: Solmars finished Miniatures
wait, was it painted by JerzyK in his NMNM* style
* NMNM = non metallic not metal
and to help you a bit, here are a few more examples of PAINTED metal. if they did it on flat canvas, you can do it on a 3d miniature:

Re: Solmars finished Miniatures
you never know how creative people from the internet can be.
don't you know about the auctions that you bid on a photo of a phone instead of a real phone? never underestimate the creativity of others!

Re: Solmars finished Miniatures
Hi all.
I painted a freehand banner, which i have begun at a painting workshop with Derwish 3 Weeks ago. There Derwish gave us some tips on Freehand painting. And this ist my result, and in the same time the first Freehand i ever painted!
For the first try it looks good, while next time i have to watch better on proportions.
Note: As this is a practice piece, it belongs to no model!
Do you like it?

The idea and concept I really like, but since I saw the original I can see difference But this is a good way to learn, while trying to copy great painters. I do it often looking at CMON
