:D Or else what? (besides, I'll just carry over a couple Hasslefree pieces to show you or something... you'll still see my painting ;) )

But serious (and more importantly, on topic), have you checked the new rules since you ARE planning on bringing stuff to Baltimore?

here goes my opinion.

GD's and all kinds of painting competitions exist for enhance the hobby community and helps you establish goals on your works... keeps your focus on learning and developing your skills and thats good.

GW limits entries? like you said "Screw them!" do your thing and dont let yourself be discouraged by business decisions.... yes if for us GD's are for personal upgrade for GW its diferent.

You have a cool idea? want to do it? so what you are waiting for? no sword because of y or x? who cares! i many times prefer things that didnt place rather than sword or gold entries.

and i never do my work to please GW or any other entity or group i do stuff for myself first and if people like it good if i one day enter a comp i would probably break the rules and get disqualified...so? i learned from my work and that knowledge my hivelady is the best prize you can get.

but thats my opinion, vision and goals and i totaly understand who has diferent aproach to it. if you want to win badly you have to be sneaky and try to apply to category that can more easely give you glory :)

You are totally right, Navarro... It is most important to reach goals instead of taking a Trophy home... The Trophy is like the sweet topping on the "I have reached my personal goal" cake...^_^...

You could say, that your goal is to master a new technique or to paint a mini you are scared of because of it´s mere complexity...:)...

The Rules, I will have a look... Are they that bad...?...

I just want to enter a GD, never been, never competed in any painting competition for that matter. It is a personal goal with me to get my entries completed and to Baltimore, if i dont place or make the first cut I still will be happy, I just want to expierence it, and say i tried.

I never had to deal with the old rules, so I will just have to wait till after the competition to tell you what i think of the new rules.

I will probably stick to the single minis catagories and maybe a unit. I thought about doing a diorama, but probably wont since you cant win the sword. Being a somewhat better than tabletop quality painter, I am sure I will need all sorts of luck to even make the first cut.
