Nope didn't notice that O_o... I was looking at all the rest of the details. Well, this kinda makes it worse for religious persons.

didnt know that, if its in the rules it makes all the sense in the world to disqualify this one, rules are rules even if work is great the theme is clearly against rules.

the piece itself is outstanding, no doubt about it, however i have 2 remarks to make:

WHY real world religious stuff on a demon? why would a demon bear jesus christ on his back, it's not like they fit together all that well.

the pose is a bit wonky...like he said he wanted an ancient demon, etc. etc. why does he look like he is dancing the funny monkey ^^

The painting is great and I have no critisism on that! To be honest though, now that I've looked at it several times, is that it's too busy! (and I don't really like the conversion work too much...)

Also as ToMaZ already said, I'm not a religious person but I can understand the wave of dissaproval he's been getting by people that are!

Paint job (with regards to Hardy's technique) is incredible. Colour scheme is awesome. There are however many things that bother me.

The pose is ... I'll try to be gentle... is awkward. "Do the monkey" dance? Yes, that would sum it up.
Painting - too many things on not so big model. It looks, like the painter didn't know when to stop.
True religious (be it christian, muslim or any other) symbols and topics do not go well with imaginary fantasy world and should not be used on a mini. I'm far from calling myself religious, but I strongly respect people, who truly believe and gain strength from their faith. IMO one needs a really good justification for using religious symbols. I can't find any reason why they have been used here, apart from : hey, I wanna paint something different. Which is not good enough for me. However, I'm really curious and eagerly wait for Hardy's story. I'll perhaps change my mind on that subject after reading it.

I'm certain, that this work will be thoroughly discussed all over the world. It should be, as it is a new step in our hobby. I'm just not sure, if this is good or wrong direction for miniature hobby.

I don't mind the pose - demons can have different poses than ours...

As for the model being busy - it is very busy but with all these colors kept in a pretty muted and limited palette it isn't TOO BUSY for me.

As for the religious stuff - with some imagination one can easily transform religious art into stuff from the world of Warhammer 40K. Make half the face a bionic implant, turn the thorny crown into a mechanic torturing device, etc. Just transform - the world of 40K is a variation of ours, so just be creative. Straightforward copying will never be much good

Its a blasphemy. And I think its Emperor (he only resemble Jesus Christ)...
