2. Life ban for those who brake above rule.
That's already the case with the US demons.

and that is all we can do. Apart from shouting loud when such thing happens.
And apart from hiring a lawyer

@Nameless - nope, it won't help much. But maybe it will at least make things more obvious... And you are right - to defend our rights we'd need to sue the participant... and it's not cost-effective...

tonight i was thinking on this and why dont Judges print out a little book with pics of all past entries? its not that hard and most is already on a site... that would keep them informed and these things would not happen again...

have you got any other idea?
There should be proper rules. As LE stated, such rules exist.
If there are cheaters, they should be held liable for their actions. Again, LE confirmed this is being performed (bans).
Painters, whose rights have been violated may call for a lawyer.
We, as a society, should state clearly, that such behaviour is wrong and condemn it any time it happens. What is being done.
What else can we do? Well, perhaps we should remember, that miniature painting and table-top games are hobby and not a constant competition, where one shall always be better than others.
EDIT
@Navarro - this would be costly and imho not very effective. How many contest can you cover with such leaflet? and there are of course situations like entering a contest with a comissioned piece.

how many judges? 5? 3? one pdf file printed on a crappy printer for each competition shouldnt be to costy.. this way any member of juri could consult it when they feel like it... before comp or even during... im not talking state of the art design panflet printed on printhouses im talking cheap tool to help juri...
if judge looks at this prints before comp for sure one identical entry will catch his attention and then he can hunt if its commissioned, autorized etc...
all contests can be covered by this since pdf can be edited ^^

Got your point, Navarro. I agree, this would help, but woldn't solve it completely.

There are other contest than GD, right? I could buy old gd winner and go to Origins, for example. That pdf file would be quite big, if we put every contest in it

Nav, the UK GD gets hundreds of entries every year, and that's just one contest. If I'm counting correctly, there are currently 9 to 10 GDs every year (depending on if there's a Canadian one). And Nameless is correct, that only includes one set of competitions. There's also Origins, Salute, 3 Gen Cons, Adepticon, and a ton of others. It gets to be a bit much to keep up with.
I do know that Jen Haley includes language in her ebay sales about using her work in competitions. I can't find a copy of exactly what it says, but I personally would not want to be the one caught doing it. (Met her husband? Greg's not someone I would want mad at me.

so you mean to tell me that we were scammed. He entered minis he didnt even paint. There was so much stuff there that looked sooooo good. My dumb self forgot to put the backpack on my Steel Legion rocket launcher team, I was rushing to finish and found it when i got home and was packin up all my stuff to move.

I was so jacked when I saw that I did that. But now that its all done im gonna fix some of my stuff paint some new stuff and off to Chicago I go. Has anyone Heard anything on the LOTR single Bronze winner who was also disqualified. Its a shame us painters need mark our minis in such ways that people cant take them and enter them in compitions, its just sad that there are drips ou there that would do that after all the work we put into them. Skilless saps.<br>
