GD teams VS individual artists

Ok i have to debate this with you guys, last GD germany lots of bugs gained some statues yet on bug forums i noticed something.

Some of the winning entries was the effort of teams so some spectacular minis were sculpted by x artist and then painted by y artist... wile im all for it (i love teams because i think people can have fun and evolve faster) i think is very very unfair in competition enviroments.

Unfair because individual artists will be up against a team of artists that avoid their individual shortcomings by simply passing mini to more competent member on a particular area...
So one will sculpt other will paint other will do some freehands etc...
:(

just about my opinion. cool idea but a bit unfair.

if they want to allow teamworks there shouyld be separate catgories for team- and solo- efforts.

You are upset, that there have been ONE case of Collaboration on the Germany Games Day 2006...??...

In this case they are not in the German Team, though...

But I see your point... if Top Painters unite their effords, how difficult must it be for usual, individual Artists to win anything...?... Well, that debate is topical on several Forums on the Internet, and I think that the Golden Demon is a Competition, so the best mini wins... as long as it sticks to the rules... and that´s it...

no, not upset. i just think that you can't compare something domne by one person (who has to be good at everything) to a joint effort where everyone can do what they are best at. that's it.

i don't think the entrants did anything wrong, only the rules are not quite fair...

I agree with Mahon, however a cool idea it is, I believe that the Golden Demon is a single person effort. Were they to make a seperate categorie for team efforts that would be cool.

Now if one person does say the sculpting, another the Freehand and yet another something else, it would be unfair for the other entrants who don't have a 'crew' to their disposal so to say...

Just my view on it.

upset? nope i dont get upset that easly :P
Just expressing a curiosity of GD germany rules and bring them to debate because i think its a bit unfair.

Although not all GDs suport teams, do they?

Also one or two or all entries from teams is a bit irrelevant to the point :)

If all is about best minis wins then there should be no problem about the guy that buys from ebay and enters comp :D

All in all undetermined group VS indivual is a bit to much even if minsi are awesome^^

i prefeer to compite against the best.. if the best is the mixture of the oefforts of 2 people, i dont mind.. more attractive and harder challenge.

in historical contest the mini compites, not the painter.. and i prefeer it os better to see every time better minis.

if you want to compite and win, increase your level.. that is my opinion

I see it mostly like Banshee...if two people need to team up to get a great mini, so be it - I wouldn't do it myself because I want to be good at both, sculpting and painting - but I will do my best to beat them. However the main point for me is: 80 hours divided by two is only 40 hours for an individual in the team...i have to sit out the 80 hours myself...then again...Demon just for myself too, don't need to share it
