Newbold Challenge Update

Post by IanNewbold »

The 2007 Challenge raised almost $10,000 USD for Children in Need. Many thanks to everyone who helped out!

The 2008 Challenge is now underway. Targets are $10,000 USD in 2008 and $50,000 USD for the five years ending 31 December 2010. Much help required!

We've frozen our figure prices at their 2007 levels until 31 December 2010 and will donate all the income our figures generate between now and then to Children in Need and Comic Relief.

Our Inaugural Artwork Event has closed and you can see all the entries at :-

Are they gonna be cast and sold too?

Hooflord will not be cast. The entry itself has been painted and will be sold as a unique item on ebay with proceeds being donated to Children in Need.

I believe that the Indian Hero will be cast and sold in the normal commercial way by Blood Moon Miniatures.

I believe that the Pulp sci-fi hero is a private sculpt and will not be made available commercially.

We are purchasing the other entries from the sculptors and will cast and sell them through Newbold World with all sales income going to Children in Need.

sculpting - I vote for Bob's Grak

Yeah, the grak for sure. Very detailed sculpt, interesting concept, goodexecution!
As for art - either Maria Macabre or Cat & Blue Curtain...

Cat & Blue Curtain won the First Artwork Event and $100 USD for the artist Pat Coward. In addition we'll be donating another $100 USD to Children in Need on Pat's behalf.

You can see all the results and find details of the Second Artwork Event at :-

I liked Maria Macabre so much I'm trying to persuade the artist to make her into a monthly cartoon strip for our web site.
