Hi guys last weekend we had our bigest national hobby event, there was lots of cool things hapening in these last 2 days from competitions of WFB, 40K, FOW, Bloodbowl, tons of boardgames etc
And to me was delivered the task to organize a painting competition for all Portuguese painters and a small sculpting workshop.
It was great we had 47 entries in 5 diferent categories and even if we Portuguese have a lot to walk this is a good starting point...
I leave you guys the fotos i took from the painting comp ( its on a site i builted this year for the portuguese painters, were we will do several online comps during the year.)

Actually it wasnt necessary
Since i was the only judge
I'm happy that the event was a motivating point for our small comunity, lets hope things continue evolving this way.

There is some nice and original stuff there Nav, the Spider Spawn springs to mind.
True, the comp is in its infant shoes but I see potential!:)

good luck!
I checked the gallery. The quality level was not amazing perhaps, but it's great that you made the first important step.
I was bit dissapointed that there were almost only gw minis. I understand that you have mainly gamers in Portugal, but it still would be nice to see more companies

I agree I also see potential in here, I believe that with several competitions during the year will motivate people to paint more and hopefully evolve a bit as painters.
There were not many things outside GW range because most of them are from players mainly, and GW games here are the most popular.
Also there were no tasty prizes just framed diplomes, it was just for the fun of it, if i get some really nice prizes i think competition level may raise a bit also

That's the sad part, but hey, nobody says they won't turn to the dark side

If people can participate just for fun and not for prizes, that's excellent!
And that's what I wish you..
