Cleaned up my desk last weekend, and created a new 'stadium' for my paint bottles:

My set op WIP minis are on the left, not visible on the pictures.
And yes, I prefer a clean surface for painting

im with Corvus on this, i prefer a clean and tidy work area but i do have a shelf place where i leave painted and unpainted minis above my paints

Atleast you have dedicated spot to painting. I have to break out all the stuff before I can start!
and clean it all up afterwards too!

Same boat here, at least I have some good paint now even if I haven't used it yet!
