Hey Guys
Taking a break from my KoS...decided to paint this little guy to improve my painting skills. Started on painting the pants for now and after a few hours ended up like so. Decided to go for a leather style pants.
One of my major set backs are contrast....so let me know if I'm headed into the right direction, in addition to what I can do to make it better.
Thanks

I think the cloak could do with a bit more contrast and less uniformity in the highlight positioning. Imagine a lightsource coming from above and the light with be most intense at the top and least at the bottom, so maybe add some more highlight colour to the very tops of the cloaks etc? Still it's a good start, almost monochromatic at the moment, not sure if that's the effect you were going for or not but nice.

deeper shadows would be good for such a sculpt with deep folds
and you missed some mold lines

Would also be nice to add some variation in the color. The cloak is to big to paint it so uniform.

Thanks guys for your comments. After looking at the model...it did appear that I created a monochromatic affect when not indented (at least I know I have the skill for it

) I think I'm gonna tackle the cape a little further and see what will happen.
Thanks again for your help guys

Alright been a while (been busy at the restaurant), but started to work on the little guy again. And again noticed some mold lines....so after some bravering (if thats even a word) to file the cape and removing some of the paint and mold lines, I went on in brightening the inner cape. That's how much I was able to get done this weekend. Hopefully more work can be done on his outer cape next week.
Again let me know if I am going in the right direction in what I hope I would be able to accomplish at the end with this piece.
Thanks
