She doesn't have to paint your way but I do think she'll listen to your advice right? :)

amazing painting Ańa - will You and Mahon adopt me now? :p
as it was mentioned: nmm is great, corpse-looking mount too but I'd like to see the armour more contrasting - maybe slightly highlighted black? :roll: nevermind - I's a matter of personal taste :wink:

Gee, how cool that you wrote so much :D

OK, Mahon, your advice about the NMM on Archaon's armour was right - but le me type what I told you: O(n the last Tiriel, the NMM was too bright, even DEMON_COLOR suggested she would be better withous so strong highlights. He suggested even how I could do it in a less shiny way in the next time - I looked at Trovarion's NMM and came with something like this. I wanted this NMM to be without strong contrasts, and to make it look dusty and dirty. :? Maybe it didn't work in my attempt... :think:

Anyway, it's good you seconded Mahon's doubts, because it was me who was stubborn about this approach to NMM.

@Fatgoblin & skrit -

As for the horns - they are the effect of longer attempts, most of whgich failed. I tried to paint more natural and bony horns with vertical stripes. :) I won't lie - the brush just kept running to the sides when I tried to do it, and after several attempts I painted horizontal lines :lol:

@Zolwik

Oh, what can I say about the skintone of the horse? :( It was painted with over a week of a pause. It was one big experiment, and my practice at technique of glazing - pretty hard and difficult for me. I started doubting if a French paintbrush would be enough for me... I started with a basecoat of grey, highlighted with white glaze, then white stripes, then I used various purples and violets from Vallejo thinned a lot, and glazed with white and then with the colors again, then white, etc.
Initially I wanted to add some olive-green too, and less purple, but with green he looked too much like My Little Pony with all the rainbow colors :lol: so I limited the palette....

That's what I can tell you, as I remember nothing more... :(

Well, it was nice to read your advice and I will try to get the horns right until I succeed :)

Ana, I think this mini is terrific. I disagree with the others about the armour. Archaon is the Lord of the End Times, his armour shouldn't be shiny at all. He should remind people of the "pale rider" that brings with him the end of days. The horse skin is fantastic. That is truly a tormented animal. Overall, this model is exactly what I think Archaon would look like when he rides into battle.

BTW Mahon, received the dreadnought and you were right, the powerfist is not pink and looks amazing!!!
