Space Marine Commander and SM Squad

Post by KingUlrikFlamebeard »

Well he's finally finished, so I've started this thread. Now, about the model...

I actually went against most advice or comments in favour of a red head, and I like it. He stands out and also it gives me something to do for all veteran sergeants and normal sergeants. The lenses on the head were done with red (red gore, blood red, fiery orange and a dot of wite) and green (dark angels, snot, goblin and a dot of white) and they turned out ok.

His base is sand painted black followed by a drybrush of codex grey and a lighter one of fortress grey.

I also took a few pics of my completed nine man tactical squad, the last pic has the commander in - incase you don't notice ;)

Great looking squad. Thay really look COOL! :D

As for the commander he is also very well done. I would only highlight the red cape a little more.

The squad looks very nice, and despite my reservations when you asked for peoples opinions the red helmet on the commander looks right on the money.

Very nice work.

Thank you all very much. I like it, and enjoyed painting it. The actual colour scheme is a very quick one to paint, I could possible get a full squad of ten to look like these in about seven to ten days (painting three or four hours a day). So I can do them quickly.

Now all I need is more marines (well have them but they're on reserve for a while) and a chapter name.

Thanks all. I will be doing more at some point, but the orcs will be taking the painting time now.
