A lot of inspiration came from Demi. When I had seen his deathjack for the first time I wanted to copy it. Heavy weathering, dark metals, I loved it.
I decided not to go all metallic in the end as I had done this brown scheme that I loved on a cryx commision a while back . I wanted that scheme only better and add some color to it.
mahon wrote:Not really sure about the bile thralls - they may be not painted enough to allow me to tell more but I feel there's something not as cool going on as you did on the other minis.

Make them more like the previous stuff and you'll have one excellent warband!
I think it's the yellow - green. I worked on this nurgle champ and used yellow as a base, going to green by using a lot of washes. The result on the nurgle champ was very cool IMO - (he's on one of the pics somewhere) - and wanted to try it on the biles. But it just doesn't work on them.
I'll change the green to same brown as on the rest. That will make them look more as a part of the group. I hope I can come up with a fitting skintone :)

very nice for now. It will be hell of an army when you finish it (and keep that quality level on all minis).

Looking great Tomaz! This is the kind of thing I needed to get my butt back in gear for painting.

What's the recipe for the jade/green marble you're using for the bases?

Thanks!! I think this was the first time my figs were some sort of motivation I think :D

Basecoat is a mix of necrotite green and thamar black

Then I used blister foam to 'sponge' it randomly with pure sulfuric yellow, pure white and necrotite green. (it will look funky at this stage)

Now wash a couple of times with a mix of some green ink + a touch of black. Followed by a light drybrush of white. I applied a few glazes of the black/green mix after the drybrushing.

Hope it helps :)

they look good for such a quick job. I would take highlights another level up, especially on edges.
