The legs were painting 4 years ago, rest is recent rofl.

Flash photography and minis don't really go well together. Makes everything look so shiny and gross ugh. I need to set up a light box or something.

I'm interested to see if this paintjob will end up sucking real bad. I feel very shaky.

P.S. I've discovered that I can only post here form home, not from work. WTF, work, why you no allow ???

I'm sure you'll get your skills back in no time :)

About the mini:

Her breasts should at least be highlighted as strong as the sleeve is. They catch the most light. And in the mean time they also should have deep shading.
I don't know if you plan to work on the trousers some more? They could use some highlights too on the knees and upper thighs.

I think it's a good mini to get you back into painting. Nice easy sculpt :)

I went to add on some more depth to paints /chest area and found that it was sort of already there. I think the flash might be washing her out big time. I'm also not really seeing any of the shades/highlights of her face here. It will be interesting to see how she photographs. There is some roughness on her shirt which I think was caused by the mixing medium I was using. It probably got too old or something.

I think I'm just going to paint minis I really enjoy, and Kev's sculpts are some of the most fun.

And about work! OMG, it's so annoying. Maybe it's cause my computer isn't set to save cookies. Makes no sense that people can go and chill on facebook, but not here :(

wow cool to see again some works from a painter that encouraged me to show some of my works on CMON. IMO some more shades on the face will help here. Waitin' for some better pics.

Inge, you seem to keep your usual style: low on highlights, shading, and contrast. But pretty smooth on the other hand...

Personally I would go for much some more contrast, especially on the 'eye focus' parts. On the other hand having somebody who still paints in the old way is interesting to watch.

Anyway, I agree - with my VERY limited painting time I also decided to paint only the stuff I enjoy, so no more super-detailed GW space marine uber-heroes. I would be unable to finish them in years...

As for being unable to post here from work - well, no wonder. We're a well known mini p0rn service ;) :lolsign:

Great to see you painting again!

Thanks for the comments!

I agree that she looks a little flat (quite bizarre considering the sculpt *snicker*). I'm going to see about getting a decent pic before I go back and add highlights. She is actually wearing blush, and you can't even tell from this pic. Not a huge fan of extreme highlights and artificial light sources, but we shall see :)

blush? no, I couldn't see... the light definitely didn't do the paintjob justice :/

anyway - your highlighting was always far from extreme, I'd call it your style.
