Bubba ain't seen anything like this since Waaargh! Orks. To celebrate, and 'cos you all did such a great job on March’s Paint a Grot Kontest, da HQ is holdin' another paintin' kontest. This one is Da Dred Paintin' Kontest, partly because there's a lot of them in the book, but mostly'cos Bubba reckons that Orky Dreads is best.
Here's da roolz:
Submission of models:
- Your model may be converted, but must be an Ork walker of some description. It may be a current release, or an older model. To avoid disputes, we're not allowing scratchbuilds, but you can convert a stock model as much as you like. All that matters is that it's a Killa Kan, Deff-Dread, or Mega-Dred.
- Note: You may enter a squadron of Kanz as a single entry.
- The models must be legally fieldable (including weapons and upgrades) within a non-Apocalypse force organization chart (as expanded by IA). So no super-heavies!
- The model(s) must be a walker. So no Ruzzbots, Battlewagons, Buggies or Grot tanks (yer sneeky gits!).
- No restrictions on bases - so you can make them as big as you like with as much scenery as you like (and if you enter a squadron you can base them separately or together). But remember da Boyz is pretty good at spotting a duff model hiding on a pretty base!
- Models that have been entered in earlier competitions are not eligible for this one.
- Entrants must be active members of the Waaagh with 100 post or more.
Voting:
- The deadline for the kontest is July 5th, 2010 by midnight Eastern Standard Time. All submissions must be in by then.
- Send 1 pic of your unpainted entry, and no more than three pics of your painted entries to bubbadamek@gmail.com. Be sure to include "Da Dred Painting Kontest" in the subject line. Also include your forum name in the body of the email so that we know who you are if you win. The three pics you will need to submit must include a front shot and a side shot. The third will be the submitter's choice (no collages, please) It is also important that you hold off on posting pics of your entries on the site (or anywhere else) - we want to keep all the entries anonymous! We may disqualify any entries which are posted anywhere else.
- Remember that a bad picture of a good model can make a good model look bad. Make sure you put some effort into taking the pictures to ensure good focus and lighting, as well as scaling them for display on the board. A good picture size should be no larger 1024x768 pixels.
- We will send out confirmation emails saying we received your submission. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three days of submission, then please send an email to bubbadamek@gmail.com and let us know.
Da Prize:
- Pictures of submitted models will be posted anonymously on the forum and voting will be done by the members. The model with the highest vote count wins. Simple, eh?
- Members found soliciting votes for their models here or on other sites will be disqualified and will have their title changed to 'weedy cheatin' git'!
Now the bit yer all waitin' for - what do I win? Apart from massive kudos and braggin' rights, the person with the highest vote will win Forgeworld’s Big Mek Buzzgob purchased from the generous donations we've received for the site. The person with the second-highest vote will win the cool Forgeworld Ork poster that was released at the same time as IA8. With prizes like that, even ol' Bubba might pick up his tools!
Now git ta werk!

Re: Da Dread Paintin' Kontest
I could paint a grot for their contest, but dread? nah, too big for me
Re: Da Dread Paintin' Kontest
Feel the same
And no more contest with forum members voting. Think that always should be a jury of 2-5 people with knowladge about painting/converting. Just my opinion

Don't forget you need 100 posts to be able to enter something. Anyone here who qualifies for that?
Re: Da Dread Paintin' Kontest
I didn't even bother to spam with ~100 messages as I know I won't be able to enter...
