Well, I guess they had to leave their adress behind for several reasons. For example for the photo session in WD... So they can always be tracked down I think.

whats the point of tracking them down? statue has been delivered and GD is over... so all damage has been done. someone on firstcut hasnt won the GD and instead the oportunist has a statue.

A while ago somebody used a couple of pictures of my miniatures to show off on a site.

But what kind of person wants to put his time into this and what's the fun of it??

The point is they might come to Balitmore or Chicago with the same minis and try again, and it's EXPRESSLY against the rules.

Mind you, I feel pretty strongly about someone entering something that they had "help" with, which I understand is fairly common, too. I don't think that's as bad as entering a purchased mini, but it's not much different IMO.

I agree with everyone, these people should be banned from using these models or even competing again - well for at least a few years. It is rather shallow to try and claim someone else's hard work as your own.

Surely there are rules to safeguard against this sort of thing?

you missed my point
the thing is... if a guy buys a mini and wins theres nothing you can do about it... you can track im ban him but he already has the statue... so i think it would be more constructive to have 4th places on gds that would automaticaly raise to the position of the filthy nerd. im not saying there should not be a reaction but being proactive sometimes saves lots of trouble.

I seriously think they should try to track them and give them a whack of any kind... (banned for life...)

Actually this happened in Canada 2 years ago IIRC - They asked for the gold trophy back (and got it), Banned the person from Comp, and awarded gold to the "silver" and silver to the person who got "bronze" and then had them up on the presentation stage for it the following year.
