Tomaz's WIP's

Post by ToMaZ »

Decided to open a topic to put my current and all my future wip's in. I don't finish a mini often, and I don't want to open a new topic for every new mini I start ^^

So here's what i'm currently working on:

High resolution pics are here, because in the smaller once details were lost:

The arm is only shaded, the face is done. I basecoated it with graveyard earth, shaded with VMC hull red, purple ink, and chaos black. Highlighted with kommando khaki to pure khaki. Not all the highlights and shading show though. Still haven't bought new lights for the diffusion box, so the pics are a bit crappy.

More angles of the base. It's finished except for the leafs that I still need to color.

Bases for the other wolfen, also in progress. The hole in the first one will be covered ofcourse. That one will have a varghar leaning on the tree. So that's why it's dented a bit. (needed to know where to place varghar)

Hey great idea....
I dont finish much either.......might have to steal your idea

as I said earlier the bases are really good. Nice sculpted walls and the paintjob is great. The skin is smooth, and I still think you used a real eyeball......very convincing. :D
You should go against the topic and finish this mini

@ Demi: it's a Rackham wolfen yes. The crocodiles are still on my desk too... They'll make their appearance here in the future too :P

@ Scarabstudio: I should finish him huh... but then I can't challenge you for your King of the WIP title :D Seriously. This one is going very good so far, not too many details etc, so there is a pretty good chance I will finish him :)

Thanx :)

The eyes are fantastic, very wolfish.

How did you make the basing?

The base is made out of plaster for the ruins. The tree and veins are 'sculpted' out of milliput. Painted the base codex grey highlighted with vmc sky grey and silver grey. Tons of black, brown, green brown and green washes. Rehighlighted here and there and edged with white.

Sand is bestial brown, drybrush bubonic brown, drybrush bleached bone. And I washed selected areas with the same colors I washed the ruins with. The tree started off with Bestial brown, washed with black, highlighted with different types of brown, some grey, some white. Washed again with green ink and chestnut ink.
Veins are dark angels green + bestial brown, highlighted with fortress grey.

Vegetation is stuff I found in the garden, plus static grass and oregano for leafs because I can't get my hands on leafs for basing :)

Hope it helps :)
