tomo's workbench

so, a moment of truth ;)

not much right now, i'm still struggling to get a good photo of the little guy, no to mention the fact that he will need a bit of a retouch.

1. Infinity/PanOceania/Knightbot Palpitaller:
note: if you ain't familiar with the Infinity range, check this out first ;) ->https://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity ... 338_lg.jpg

that's one of a series of Palbot conversions i intend. i'll be much obliged if you could give me serious feedback, especially about the bits i'm not entirely happy with, namely:
the armour (my virgin NMM ;) ),
the sword,
the cross-vision slit, which has not the konda glow it should
the back side: how could i make it more appealng? thought of painting a part of the calf with a brighter colour with rusty shading, what do you think?

2. Infinity/Ariadna/Uxia McNeill:
an older model, just to have something to make the Palbot look nicer in comparison ;)

3. Warmaster/Chaos/Spawn & Lord:
even older guys, my scratchbuildo-sculpting attempts

take a look...

Some good work, i think a general comment is that some of the surfaces seem rather flat or lacking in contrast. I think you are a good neat painter and obviously showing minis as close as you have will show alot of flaws but they could also be camera artefacts. Some of your photos could possibly do with a bit more diffused lighting to show the model truely (although saying that i haven't mastered that yet either). The progression of your painting skills has improved from your earlier stuff to your latest.

For a quick pointer on your first model you asked about some pointers with NMM, it's very much about the extreme contrasts from dark to light but also placement and opposites. You model just needs a bit more pushing in the highlights as it seems a very dark and muted palette. Still very nice and i like the freehand, it's really sharp and clean.

Looking good so far :D

My only concern is your figures are suffering the same problem I had when I first joined up here... chalky paint! The advice I got was to thin my paints a lot more and do several layers instead of only a couple... Hope that helps you in some way, if it's just your photography that's causing the problem then try upping the F-Stop to above F8 when taking really close pictures, it's a depth of field thing ;)
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again
