Il mio reporto di Milano

Post by Trovarion »

ciao amici!

First of all I have to say I am having a fantastic time in Italy. The people here are very, very kind, everyone youre asking is amazingly helpfull.

The Golden Demon itself started a little discouraging, when they have put my Space Marine into the Open category, because the base was too large. Nice, better update your homepage instantly!! I was seeing it by accident and yelled at the head-judge why he is punishing me for something that GW wrote wrong on their homepage, I was really arroused, because I thought I was the only one who was removed, but it seems theyve put a lot of minis elswhere in this way, my apologises. I also apologised to him once I noticed and asked if he will vote me down now because I as so aroused but I guess he was cool...

anyway - I asked that my repainted Broodlord be removed from monster category to open and entered the SM in 40k Monster...not a good move I guess, I think vice versa it would have been better, but its over now, better think ahead next time ;)

right, so these two didnt win anything, quite a waste of time in the end

BUT when we came to the Fantasy single miniature the guy with the microphone said..."I am not sure if I can pronounce it correctly" and then I knew :D - so my Nurgle General took Bronce (I beg your pardon, will post the pictres when I get home ;) )

I have to say that the standard of the mins, the quality and the NUMBER of high quality entries was amazing. compared to the german GD it was better I must say by far!

And that fact makes me even happier to tell you that my LotR entry took a Golden Trophy!! The one mini I put in the least time (but not less love of course!! - just want to say that this was the least expected to win GOLD)

I am happy and this makes up for feeling like crap all day and the long exhausting journey and last but not least the money spent...

now Ill have some McDonalds and go to sleep

P.S.: Oh!! I forgot to say that the Italian painters were amazingly hospitaly, almost all of them congratulated me for a deserved win, there was not a single sign of envy or the like, molto grazie!!!

P.P.S.: SORRY! I forgot, It was SO nice to meet Lai, Mormedil and Sascha!! I had nice conversations with them, really had a nice time!!

Congratulations on your GD's! I'm trying to find them on some page now... :D

You're right, German GD wasn't that great this year. Especially LotR. I'm going next year... so be gentle with your gold winning mini on me :P

hello
first and foremost, where do the people eat in MILANO?? Except from TONS OF MCDONALDS.... a pair of burguer kings and spizzico.... and also... supermarkets?? stores??? groceries??? anywhere to buy some food and drinks?????

People from GW italia was very nice... but i cannot understand why they also put my exodyte into open category and the winner of the single cat in 40k was a "something too sweet and colorful ;)" [Mahon] (sorry if the paintress post in this forum, but in my opinion the base didnt fit the mini...).and i think other miniatures deserved the trophies instead some of the awarded ones but that is my personal taste...

I was dissapointed because my hotel was nearer to russia than to milano (just joking, it was located in bruzzano... somewhere in nord milano in which the last train past @ 10 o clock in the night... so there was no nightlife for me and my friends in Milano), the bad education of the citizens
but fortunately italian freaks where nice people, well educated and also they had not problems in communicating with you, by pseudospanishitalian, english or just gestures.

I will repeat next year... but i will carry new lil guys with me (and maybe a dreadnought as usual in 40k vehicle...)
