Hi all, we are back

It was cool, and IMHO the contest was of high quality. Now I am full of ideas - amazing how seeing so many such good minis works on one's mind. I fell in love in Derwish's works, especially in this mini - first place in monster category - very moving.

Decision about the first cut was a suprise for me.
'WFB Monster' category was the only one where I guessed exacly the right winners

Thanks to all the painters who were there we had great fun

Hello all!

Here is the first part of our collection of photos from Golden Demon Germany 2009.

I enjoyed the event very much. I had just another chance to meet people I only knew from the internet (often for many years already) and to see many interesting miniatures.

Don't forget to zoom the pictures if you find them interesting :)

And here are some of the photos:

The event took place in such a fantastic place:

Some official paintjobs. If you check the full-sized pictures in the gallery you will see that their style usually relies on sharp and strong highlights more than smooth blending:

... Of course there are exceptions:

Large scale sculpts of space marines, which are scaled and cast in the usual scale. Check the (normal-sized) Defiler for scale comparison:

Glossy surfaces on this scorpion looked just excellent - like a luxurious car!

More photos tomorrow - including way too many pictures of entries, and more ;)
