OH! I've just found that topic. Dioramas you - Mahon showed us are just great! Esspecially first and second. They tell a story and what is even better - have meaning.
But the painting is not the best. But on the other hand it's hard to paint the whole scene on a very high level.
I'm a huge fun of miniatures or scenes that have a meaning.
But there is also an another group of miniatures - they don't have a meaning but are dynamic, there are emotions, actions and reactions, some interesting details. This kind of minis are also amazing.
I think that our hobby: miniatures, dioramas and other stuff we do may be a way of showing thoughts, transfering some ideas. Some try to do it but the effect is not good enough. Some try to say something but don't really know what to say and how. Some want to say something but don't really know what are they saying. They put just some symbols but nothing more.
For me - adding thoughts and meanings is a higher level that gives a great oportunity for our creativity. But there are no, or just a few dioramas that have a real thought in it. Car with pieces of Lenin statue tells no interesting thoughts for me.

Meaning? Maybe but not clear enought to know recognise it. But a grat diorama with a kind of "interaction" between miniatures. And painting on a high level !
